Why on Earth would he go to West Ham, they don't spend money on players or the manager
The desks are better at West Ham.

What makes Fonseca a more ambitious appointment than Silva?

As I've said before both for me are risks and im not particularly fond of either... however Im a big believer of the need for balance and Fonesca seem's to play good football whilst also defending well.

I couldnt see a Silva team keeping the likes of Man City and Roma down to just the 1 goal for example. He shipped 4 against chelsea, 6 to City, 3 to Liverpool and 3 to us amongst others.

Compare Shaktars defence to Hulls/Watfords though mate - theres a massive difference.

Dont get me wrong Silva isnt a dour appointment and he'll get my support, but I fear we are making excuses for his defence - Newcastle have a shambolic back four bar Lascelles yet Rafael has got clean sheets against the likes of Chelsea and the RS, Martinez on the other hand had a quality back 4 left from Moyes and he turned it to mush. The system is just as important as the personnel and my concern with Silva is that he relies too much on going forward.

If we appoint him we simply have to break the bank on 2x quality centre forwards as we need to be able to win games 3-2/4-3 like the RS can do and the likes of Leicester with Vardy and Mahrez.

Tosun and one of Bolasie/Lookman with Walcott wont cut the mustard.

If Silva was really first choice over fonseca why wouldn't we have hired him already? I don't think moshiri had any intention of extending allardyce after the seasons end. I wouldn't be surprised if Silva was the fall back option.

Fonseca on the other hand would hardly jump straight at the chance of west ham. Shakthar are bigger than them.
The season ended yesterday. When would we have appointed him.

Appoint a 4th manager ..&..Possibly destabilize an already precarious position :( ALL in the same season?o_O
Perhaps now..with Morishi upping his stake in EFC he feels he now has the leeway to call the shots for sure (With the advice of Marcel Brands...perhaps )
