Lukaku was a no brainier though

I used to sign Lukaku on footy manager every time, long before he went to Chelsea.

I hadn’t heard of him when we signed him and we were after instant impactwhich he didn’t provide, so no I wouldn’t have signed him.
However, I do think he could have got 12/14 goals this season if he had actually been given a decent amount of pitch time which would be a reasonable return for a 13m signing and he was the only bright spark and positive from this season for me, so for that, I thank brown shoes.

I love his attitude, and the other players clearly like him from their reactions to him on the pitch as well.

It's hard to keep a straight face when talking about a player being a good buy for what we paid for him when we absolutely spunked £45m on Sigurdsson.

Considering his goals kept us up he's more than paid for himself.

Yes he has.

And yes, he IS limited....but thats to a goal every 109 minutes, or on pace to hit 31 goals if played a full season.

That was a final game dead rubber for City, they had already qualified at a canter. It is still an impressive result but Basle went to the Etihad in the round of 16 and beat City after getting thrashed in the first leg.

To be fair mate I was at the Etihad for city's home game against Shakhtar, and Shakhtar were excellent and really game city a run for their money, didn't know Fonseca was their manager.

Yes I have watched that game and they certainly gave a City a good game. De Bruyne scored an excellent goal too. Finishing 2nd in that group is no small feat either, Guardiola remarked after playing Napoli that they played the best football in Europe so to finish ahead of them speaks volumes. I was just commenting on the fact that the game City lost, they had no competitive edge as they had nothing to play for.
