Yeah, i watched the game tonight, if he wanted us to play like his Shakhtar team he is going to need an entire new squad, it's all one touch passing at pace, great to watch. Bernard looks a hell of player, a proper no.10!

A lot of that is down to his coaching mate, he's also found the best ways to use certain players within his system.

Had a quick scan of their squad the other day, its full of 5 foot 2 midgets! I was shook.

We have loads of players that could play that kind of football, I mean clearly we have a few that couldnt, but on the main we have quite a technically sound team, with the right coaching.............

I mean Davies, Gana, Walcott, Rooney, Iceland all have very good technical skills IMO.

Bernard looks a million times better working with Fonseca, as do most of there Brazilian players tbf, probably helps a bit as well having a manager who speaks the language.

As for us needing s new team, to play his system, tend to think we would need less than we'd need to fully play the Sam gravy system.

About 3 weeks is seemingly the standard.

This guy won’t come here though.

AC Milan beckons.
Gattuso has righted the ship there and barring disaster looks to have earned a summer window. Which will probably be a disaster but still. He will probably end up taking over somewhere once the dominoes fall on the Chelsea and Bayern jobs

The CL is a strange competition with strange results. You have a mixture of the very best teams in Europe and teams that are no more than cannon fodder. The big teams (depending on the quality of the group) really don't have to get serious until now.

Fonseca has done well with a team from a weaker league but coming and managing in the premiership is a totally different challenge... and a very risky proposition from our point of view.
After two disappointing appointments I think the next(whenever that will be) will be with a more proven manager or a different managerial structure.

It could be argued that El Gravy is one of the most proven managers in the premier league, based on his success at keeping teams in it. I'd rather we revert to our habit of appointing aspiring younger managers with ambition, it used to serve us quite well.

This is the reason that I say Sam will still be here next season.

Not so sure about our success levels when appointing young managers.
Moyes was a big success... albeit the club was in a different place and he was the right man at the right time.

Martinez... success ?

I’d argue yes. All day.

Look even now, the fans have forgotten about being “little old Everton”. They have expectancy having seen what we CAN do. Regardless of whether he bottled it, he’s left a legacy that the fans believe can happen.
