I think we have a chance of getting Fonseca but would probably have to have an agreement in place before the seasons end and before the next managerial merry go round starts. His stock isnt so high that he is at the stage where he would dismiss us out of hand.

If we made contact in November that should be a definite advantage.

It's just another case of hoping that lessons are learned from the last farce.

Alternatively, we could just nip in and steal whoever Shakhtar seek to appoint in his place

He has his team punching way above it's weight this season in the Champions league,especially when they are not even playing in their own ground for home games and playing in a very weak league.

That Shakhtar Donetsk team has some good players. I would still prefer a coach with premier league experience plus his failure at Porto worries me.

Another thing that worries me is that are we literally just choosing players and managers based on a few decent performances in the champions league because if so that's no way to run a professional football club.

better to have players or managers who have never been to the champions league then?

We can't sign CL regulars, better to go for current good ones that will join this circus to get anywhere. Otherwise we are signing players who havent played at the top level or hiring managers who excel at getting nowhere.
