Of course they are good players, but alternative prem team of the year?!?!?!
I assumed it was based on the website's average ratings for their performances, rather than someone just picking them as their stars of the season? If that's the case, there's not a lot to argue about really is there, the highest rated players are the highest rated players.

Is it highest rated? I thought it was picked also.

It is picked, it is their alternative team of the year so plenty open to scrutiny.

Fair enough then. I thought that's why they'd put the ratings on there, and it bears a striking resemblance to the team of the season on their website which is based on their average ratings, only without any of the players in the PFA team in it.

GK: Ederson (Man City)

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
CB: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
CB: Aymeric Laporte (Man City)
LB: Andy Robertson (Liverpool)

CM: Fernandinho (Man City)
CM: Bernardo Silva (Man City)
CM: Paul Pogba (Man Utd)

FWD: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
FWD: Sergio Aguero (Man City)
FWD: Raheem Sterling (Man City)

So weird to me. Individual merit outweighs team merit.
