He's clearly in a poor run of form, but such radical criticism refers to such a limited sample size.

Aside from one horror showing at Anfield—playing with a far from ideal partner in Antolin Alcaraz—Jagielka was one of Roberto Martinez's leading performers over much of last season. He was outstanding in a memorable 1-0 win at Old Trafford, recording statistical perfection, per Squawka, in every defensive category (http://www.squawka.com/news/92-pass-completion-how-moyes-greatest-signing-undid-the-red-devils/41187)

Just a few days later, he was similarly imposing against Arsenal, as Everton achieved another impressive result

I don't think much has really changed, he's a little out of form right now, it happens. I'm a fan of the idea of upgrading our center halves, but that's another argument, and doesn't mean jags is ready for the scrapheap

So, Jagielka's loss of form is Distins making? You couldn't make it up.....Jagielka's loss of form is Jagielka's loss of form. Distin was, and remains a better all round bet than Jagielka at centre half...he has recovery pace, is more comfortable on the ball and miles better distribution. In fairness to Jagielka he is a more traditional centre half who has the ability to throw himself in front of any challenge but ultimately lacks technical quality.
