Captain Jags is still a member of the mighty Three Lions. I do not think we should be so eager to discard one of England's premier CBs.
Him and Bainsey should be given extended contracts til at least the end of the next World Cup. I would love to see our blue boys hold aloft that trophy...

His age has caught up to him and it shows. I can forgive the fact that he's not the player he once was but I can't forgive his lack of passion on the pitch and his horrendous lack of leadership as captain. He's never been a good captain as far as I'm concerned, I'm sure people will say you don't have to shout on the pitch to be a good captain and I'd agree with that to a certain extent but there's definitely a time and a place for it. Jags lacks any type of authority on the pitch. As I've said on here before some are leaders and some are meant to be lead and Jags is definitely no leader.

Agree.

You'd hope that the decision to play Jagielka yesterday was based on rotation and ensuring the squad remained fresh for a congested period.

Yet, neither Mori or Holgate have played extensively and if anything you'd expect Williams, the stalwart of our defence, to have been rested.

As a purely tactical decision then it's concerning as he's clearly looking fragile and out of form and him and Williams together is a minefield.

If he starts against Southampton, which I'm confident that he will not, then I'd expect us to ship a few goals against a decent side like they are.

I think he'll stay the season. We have more problems in attack than defense so if we are going to buy in Jan we prob should go with midfield-strikers. There are still minutes for him because there is a 1000% chance that Koenman will get frustrated with Mori and bench him for a game or 2.

Then call Sheff Utd and see if he wants to finish his career where he started from.

Where are Williams and Funes Mori on bookings? Any danger of them getting suspended? That would be argument enough for keeping Jags around until the end of the season.

How he got a start over Holgate and mori there is do not know. I honestly think Williams dislikes partnering him aswell yanno. Always looks a bit moany. Ship out before his good reputation with the fans disappears like Howard's did towards the end. He jjst isn't good enough

Difference is Howard was never good enough and talked she eye T

Last season he picked up zero bookings throughout the campaign.

This season he's gave 2 or 3 pens away, been sent off, and received 3 yellows.

Its a telling picture.

Swear I heard the commentator on Optus say that he's had something like 3 bookings in 8 years... it was a rediculously low number
