I dont think selling an Argentina international who is capable of playing both CB and LB would be particularly wise for us, especially given the ages of Williams and Jags. I think he only gets sold if we bring in 2 starting CBs, otherwise I think we keep him for another season at least.

Mate with respect hes an utter carthorse.

Jags and Williams in 2 years will be a better player, Matty P is already twice the player.

Hes a CB that last season won 1 tackle in 4 he competed for.

but he's our carthorse! We'll sell him in time, but we can't get rid of all 3 centre backs within 2 years, surely? in my opinion we can't anyway.

I'd keep Jags as cover..he proved at the end of last season that he's still got ability. Agree that he's not going to be first choice but we play a lot of games and he'd be perfect for the less important ones...this is based on ability not sentimentality

He's tailor made for a coaching job within the club imo.

Well respected, liked, comes across as intelligent and grounded.

Similar to Unsy.

Depends on whether he's ready to pack in playing

I've got a feeling Jags is going to be a cup team player next season. I think the older players will get the European cup to concentrate on with a mix of the likes of Pennington and jonjo.

Can't see us letting him go at all if I'm honest

Been a good player for us, seems a nice guy aswell just obviously past it for 18 months now, hopefully the captains armband now goes to someone with some backbone

Don't mind that. Him and Barry playing Thursdays with a mix of young players and first teamers who won't be starting on the Sunday. If he leaves we thank him for being a good player, if he stays we get behind him.

He 'owes us nothing' as is said, so I wouldn't mind him staying 1 more year as back up.
Nor would I be up in arms if he left by mutual agreement, it's a good move for him on paper...he has to take it if he fancies it - but, given his milque-toast captaincy, will he have the grit to enforce his will on the team.

You're such an egg.

Whys everyone arsed abar the fee?

Hes gonna be boss.

Sniff it @Tubey

He will be boss.

VAULT ME

Yet to be wrong about any Everton player in the last 25 years.

Lad why you fewin lad?

Mori is sound, like the lid a lot me, yeah hes got a few mistakes in him, but hes settled in superbly all things considered and when he adapts to the league and his team mates think we got a cracking player.

In my opinion Jagielka is no longer good enough to be a starter and out of respect to how good a servant he's been I would allow him a free transfer. Of the other (Williams and Funes Mori) I would move both of them on, one this summer and the other next summer. I would bring 2 new centre backs in this summer. I would probably move Funes Mori on this summer as we can probably still get a decent fee and he would moan most about not being in the team. Next year when Holgate and Galloway have more experience we can then move Williams on. With regards Jagielka I would like to wish him well as he had always been a top class player and good ambassador for the club but we can't let sentiment get in the way of moving the club forward.
