He could have gone arsenal? He stayed - the club clearly holds some value to him and its ashame that for the majority of fans when we write a player off, we turn our back the minute we decide that they are no longer of us to us.

I actually hope he stays. It doesn't mean I want him as a starter, he should be used as a rotation option and for cover primarily but he can bring more to the club than just starting every Saturday.

Of course I wish him well and he has done a good job for the blues. But he, like every other player in the modern era, has taken a lot more out of the club than he's given back.

I'll be sad to see Jags go, would have hoped he could have retired with us (same with Baines), but I can understand him wanting to move if he junks he can still be a starter and knows he's not in koeman's plans.

Him and Baines are both due a testimonial his summer I think. I wonder what'll happen with that?

I do think its time for him to to. Been a fantastic player, but his errors are happening multiple times a match now when he plays, he hasn't got any pace left in him, and he gets physically bullied a lot now.

His performances alongside lescott was truly one of the best in premier league if not Europe at the time. Even after his injury although he wasn't quite the same for me he was brilliant.

But its time to go, thanks jags.

Yep, see the usual intercepted backpass per game and there was a moment I think in the derby where somewhere made up about 10 yards on him in 20 yards (he just about cleared it)

good player and hope he gets a testimonial if he's due one (must be 9-10 years now) but I'd have him about 4th choice and I'm not sure that's good for either of us (playing time for him, wages for us)

I would still play him ahead of Mori, in fact i think it makes better business sense to sell Mori for 8-10 mill and let Jags just sit on his contract next year.

Worry about another centre back next season after we sign Keane this as the dogs in the street seem to know we will.

but what should he have done?
He himself. Phil Jagielka. On his own. To have given more back then he took out? How have you quantified whatever actions he has executed into monetary value?

For 50k a week he should have swept outside goodison and stewarded for games in which he wasn't playing!!

Anyway, it's time for him to move on.

New era new mentality

I wouldn't, but I think mori will be sold too, but I'd have him ahead of jagielka ATM.

One of my all-time favorites. Got a lot of stick, but he was nothing but professional for us in his time here - especially when Arsenal were in for him.

If he decides that he wants to go back 'home', then that's up to him and the club should let him go. He's still a very solid PL defender.

One of my favourite ever Everton players. Never less than good and often outstanding over the best part of a decade. If he does go I hope we see him back as a coach in the future.
