Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

I've seen him play quite a few times over the last couple of years (season ticket at St Marys).

He's a nice bloke, mostly average, occasionally good, lives off his reputation of being a prospect at Bayern.
He slows down open play, has a decent shot (mostly straight at the keeper), can tackle, awful passing.

Anything over 10million would have the Saints fans dancing in the streets
Unless he signs a new contract with them and then he will be back to being one of their best and most influential players.

I think you are totally undervaluing that kind of player. They are the bedrock on which the whole team is built.
They provide cover for the defence and act as the springboard for attack.
I think Liverpool would probably have won the league without Salah or Firmino but in my opinion they definitely would not without Henderson.

Above all that is the problem we must fix in our team. We thought it might be Schneiderlin, Gueye partially did it for a while , if only we could get Joe Parkinson back again or a Carsley then we can start to build properly.

No I agree with you. Hojbjerg makes us more competitive and gives us a foothold, but even if he is the springboard for our attack, there isn't enough creativity or goals at the moment for that to mean a great deal. Our wingers yesterday probably created 3-4 (half?) chances between them and that really needs to increase.

Have you not just repackaged the same point he was making and made it back to him?! Players like that are important, but you also need quality around them because they aren’t the type of player to win you games. Hojbjerg would be a good start, but he wouldn’t even come close to addressing many of our issues.

Grew up near soton and know a lot of saints and they all laughed when I said 20m

To be honest I have not seen a lot of Hojbjergs games but what I have seen I am not to impressed, I believe we could a lot worse than have a good look at Douglas Luiz who for me was man of the match for Villa last night.

Mate I would get motm if I was up against daisies and gomes
