I don't think CA would agree with you.
Average centre half's are ten a penny, average midfielders seem harder to come by judging by the clowns we've collected

Unless he signs a new contract with them and then he will be back to being one of their best and most influential players.I've seen him play quite a few times over the last couple of years (season ticket at St Marys).
He's a nice bloke, mostly average, occasionally good, lives off his reputation of being a prospect at Bayern.
He slows down open play, has a decent shot (mostly straight at the keeper), can tackle, awful passing.
Anything over 10million would have the Saints fans dancing in the streets
Are you talking about Hojberg ?He's always looked heavy and slow to me.
They ain’t getting 35 unless there’s some sort of FFP carve up. Like giving us 30 for tom Davies. They want 35 apparently.... That's a long way from our bid of 18mil.................................
Got no real choice at the minute as he’s the only fit CB we have. If we get a CB In. Gabriel? Then one of him or Mina will be gone imo.I don't think CA would agree with you.
Sounds like the £35 price was before the pandemic and now they’re hoping for closer to £25.They want 35 apparently.... That's a long way from our bid of 18mil.................................
I think you are totally undervaluing that kind of player. They are the bedrock on which the whole team is built.
They provide cover for the defence and act as the springboard for attack.
I think Liverpool would probably have won the league without Salah or Firmino but in my opinion they definitely would not without Henderson.
Above all that is the problem we must fix in our team. We thought it might be Schneiderlin, Gueye partially did it for a while , if only we could get Joe Parkinson back again or a Carsley then we can start to build properly.
Have you not just repackaged the same point he was making and made it back to him?! Players like that are important, but you also need quality around them because they aren’t the type of player to win you games. Hojbjerg would be a good start, but he wouldn’t even come close to addressing many of our issues.I think you are totally undervaluing that kind of player. Who's the last player we signed from Southampton?

To be honest I have not seen a lot of Hojbjergs games but what I have seen I am not to impressed, I believe we could a lot worse than have a good look at Douglas Luiz who for me was man of the match for Villa last night.
Cuco Martina, James Beattie, Stekelenburg was on loan there season before we signed him.
So beattie is the only player we signed directly. Hardly much of a sample size
