Does anyone play guitar? I've just started learning. I'm trying to play the G chord and I can't understand how it's physically possible to get your fingers in that position. It's getting rar on my tits.

It's taken me 35 years to learn to play badly. G is one of the easy ones. Not as easy as Em and A mind.

Here you go. A barre G chord in the root position on my 1991 Gibson Les Paul Custom (for those who may be interested). Reverse it for rightys, obviously!

Practice and patience mate. That goes for all chords and don't just fret (see what I did there) about chord shapes, it's important to be comfortable strumming so take time out just getting used to playing a rhythm.

After a few months, you'll be absolutely fine and on the road to a happiness (for a limited time)

It really isn't. In turn, just take each of your fingers, pull hard, twist and dislocate. G will then be a breeze. The world will be your lobster.

this is top advice tbf - essential for a lot of tunes
