If you're taking the family on a day out, you use a large saloon car or people carrier. If you're in a race, you go for a sports car. Right now, we need an old reliable 4x4 to drag us out of the crap we are stuck in. Sam Allardyce has the experience of dealing with the situation we find ourselves in at the moment. He not only knows what needs to be done, but how to do it. It's not fashionable or glamorous... but neither are we right now, or the position we are in. This is something a lot of Evertonians need to get into their heads.

We need to get back to the basics of football. On Sunday, Rooney made three great passes during game... two of them were to Leicester City players. Basics; clear your lines, keep it simple, don't give away silly free-kicks, make sure your passes find a player wearing the same colour shirt as you.

To be honest I don't think there's anything between Dyche or Allardyce.

But I'd go Allardyce purely on basis he's managed in the premier league more then Dyche, and yes I know it was only a short stint, but let's not forget he was the England manager.

Don't think he gets enough credit
