On reflection, we could maybe rest up Lukaku and one or two others for the Southampton game the week before the SF, then play them midweek against Liverpool...that'd give them a 10 day rest in the run up to SF week...and also keep them big match sharp for the Wembley game.

We give ourselves a fighting chance of winning both the Southampton and derby matches that way.

Your mate basically ended our league season in November.

Would be poor management if RM doesnt rest as many of the semi final starters as possible in my opinion. They would only have one eye on the weekend anyhow so we are more likely to get a result if we play players who dont have to worry about a huge game 4days later.

I've put aye but I don't think it matters. The adrenaline of playing at wembley will sort out any tiredness.

I'd rest Lukaku and maybe 2-3 others depending on fatigue.

Start the players who will be on the bench for Wembley to give them some sharpness if they need to come on. Mirallas, Niasse, etc.

We've got nothing to play for in the league. It's not a case of resting players, it's a case of realising that this is a Derby - and there's probably a better chance of getting injured in a Derby than any other premier league match - so yes, rest as many players as possible.

I would make lots of changes, basically playing a reserve side, maybe give Dowell a run.
If we get something out of it, then it's slap in the face for our neighbours, if we lose , well we only put out a reserve team because we have a big game at the weekend.

Win,win

Best 11 v Liverpool go 0-3 up n take off 3 best players at half time n hope we can defend a 0-3 lead!!!
