I think I had mentioned my fears to you about the portuguese side.
And guess what... it came as I thought it would.
I expected us to go through but never believed we could win the Euro.
At the end of the day it's just a game. I got used to lose important matches in the behalf of that crap goalie (Euro 2004 that greek goal in the final and the UEFA Cup final against CSKA Moscow, that first goal is hilarious).
But today I always felt we could turn it around. Their defence is ridiculous. Before their goal we had the best chance in the match by Moutinho.
But that's football. Maybe next time we'll get Mourinho on the bench.
I knew you werent Ricardo's biggest fan, if theres alternatives then you might see them after the tournament.
Its a shame to lose Portugal this early as they looked like a team that could win it. With Scolari going there will be a breeze of new ideas come in mate. With the nucleas of young players you have then the future remains bright. On the other hand you could follow In-ger-lund...

I don't see Scolari as a problem, i think he arrived ten years too late. But Ronaldo is not up there with Figo or Rui Costa. I can never get tired of saying that.
People go nuts about him, but he still has a lot to learn.
The new breed is good, but we lack a leader. Deco was the best player for portugal. But he's over 30 now and besides that he's not portuguese.
There is no one like Figo or like Rui Costa. We lacked someone like one of them in this tournament.
About Ricardo, i think he should take a look at himself and step down. He's too bad to be true. He's probably the worst keeper in the tournament.
But today, a lot of individual errors lead to the defeat. Ferreira lost Schweinsteiger in the first one. Ronaldo lost Klose in the second. The ref didn't see the clear foul on Ferreira, but nevertheless Ferreira is too soft as a player (he doesn't look like a PL player, honestly. He's like a girl playing at times) and should have gone stronger for the ball. And Ricardo, well in that third he was crap as usual.
So nothing new, we're out at the hands of a side we should have beaten.

Agreed mate. A lot of England fans know that feeling well.
Perhaps Moutinho will develop into the player that will grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Not Fernandes like.

Moutinho is not that kind of player. he's very good but he's a team player. he adds something to the side but he's not the guy to take opponents on, just like figo was.
He runs all day, he passes the ball very well and he defends very well. But he's not the typical number 10. He's not Deco or Rui Costa. He's more of a box to box. Has great mentality also, but not the flair to do something unexpected.
Ronaldo we'll have to be the leader, but he comes short to those legends of portuguese football.

It was bad marking more than Ricardo who lost that match. I was wrong about that last goal. It was Feirriera marking Ballack however Ballack lost him so quickly it looked like Ronaldo was marking him.
Germany may win the thing. Its yet another example of how piss-poor the England team plays together. How many Germans would start on England 2-3?? Klose, Poldoski, Ballack, Lamm? Well maybe not Lamm I forgot Ashley Cole was the Best Left Back in the World (TM).
