Oldblue - this is spot on.
Over the years, not just under El Bob, but Moyes and others too, far, far, far too many times Everton have had teams on the ropes and we simply do not bury them.
It's as though we don't want to be seen to embarrass our opponents.

But this us one of the things Bobby baiters were levelling at him earlier in the season, Block.

Every time we lost a lead boys on here were moaning that he "should be shutting up shop" when we were two goals up at Bournemouth and Chelsea....instead of kicking on and trying to bury them.

He was pilloried for charging to the sound of the guns when we took the lead against Stoke after being twice behind.

IMO one of the big pluses of the Bobby era prior to West Ham wax the fact he always had the team trying to press home an advantage.

Nowadays though it seems we never have an advantage to press home :(

Okay mate, let me add a wee bit of qualification.
Especially at home, when we have a team on the ropes aka Villa and Slumberland this year, even though we beat them handsomely both games we could have at least two, three or four more.
Away from home, I'd tend to agree that maybe there's a justification for not going overly gung-ho.

A cup semi final, possibly a final/potentially a fa cup win, we have the players.

If we fail, kick Martinez out and get some better manager in

Rich in investment now, more players coming in during the summer

It's a wait and see, but positive all the same!!

- We can still win the cup
- We have several very good players
-We have a rich new owner

Any more?

Pretty much what you said mate.
Looked at objectively, there are more pluses than minuses

In a semi, chance of a trophy
Had a decent crack at the league cup
Good squad ( probably not as good as some would like to think, but still good )
Young talent on the fringes of the squad
New owner, who appears to be ambitious
Stadium issue more likely to be sorted now than it has for years
Robert Earl is no longer associated with the club

All we need is to start winning games on a regular basis and we'll all have big smiles on our faces.

Here's my postitive thought! Sack the bloody manager!! Times will be much happier afterwards!
