Possible Director of Football

Anyone else think maybe Emery is moving because he wants a job where he's in control of signings? I mean DOF's serve a purpose but some managers might not want to be told who the club are signing.

With Koeman finally at the reins the next order of business is the DoF.

Months looks unlikely given he appears to have just signed Emery's replacement, so I figure this thread needs the bump.

Overmars and Royle have been mentioned as others the club has considered.

Anyone heard any other names mentioned? And no not Les Reed.

Director Of Football, the biggest load of tosh in football !!

While its nice to think of the manager that does it all, with the modern game and all the money, media, agents, analysis etc it brings, it's a necessity for a top club. Get a man who can motivate and be a leader of the men on the field, and another who can pick up coming talent and do a deal.

I hope that an appointment is not too far away on this subject now.

As much as i rate Koeman to pick some players, i would like to think if there was any indication that Moshi would come here then it brings ready made targets to bring in now, which i think is the aim. Spend big but right this summer and it would set us up for years.

anyway, leonardo as an option? No idea if he is good BUT he has experience brokering higher profile signings and talents from overseas. this might be beneficial itself as if he can negotiate fees and pluck the talent from brazil and what not to everton then that would be quite exciting indeed.

Did Leonardo negotiate spending £50m on David Luiz?

Let's put that CV in the bin
