Congratulations on getting your man. For those of you with reservations about him, he's the real deal. Exciting times for you boys with money to spend and Walsh hopefully scouting for you. Hopefully he is involved more on the scouting side of things as I think DOF limits his real talent

Not sure how we are positioning the DoF position yet mate, it might be more of a Head of recruitment role, as there is rumours of a technical director too.. whatever they are.

Ill be honest i hadn't heard of him till we were linked, but it seems he is really well thought of - if we have bought into him because of his extensive scouting system that brings up gems and talent then thats good enough for me!

I'm not denying or denigrating what Leics, or the job Walsh done. But Leics can afford to take risks on players, the risks payed off brilliantly. But they were risks. I'm not too sure them same risks could be afforded here. Vardy had the season of his life last season. The Season before he got 5 goals in 34, I don't think the same level of patience would be given here, least of all from our fans. I didn't scoff at the likes of Simpson, Huth or Morgan, they were absolutely brilliant last season, it was more a scoff at our fans arrogance that now we've supposedly got some money, expectations in the transfer market have gone up, I don't think many on here would be happy if we brought Utd has beens and Stoke rejects in. I'm talking about where they were when you got them, not now.

I agree, I'd said elsewhere on here that our tactic doesn't particularly translate to where you or we are now. So, it's not a cast iron guarantee he'll come up with another strategy that works. Perhaps rather than buying Stoke cast offs you move up a level, you buy cast offs from the next rung of clubs.... the strategy will need working out between Koeman and Walsh.

With Vardy, Walsh picks the players... he doesn't pick the team, he can't help it if Pearson plays him wide left or as a support striker.

You mention Cleverly, Lingaard, Michael Keane, lower clubs are falling over themselves to get Utd players on loan, especially the ones that are/were highly regarded as them. Hardly a masterstroke. And Harry Kane was always held in high regard even when he was in Spurs reserves/youth..

I agree, but we were the first to get them most of the time. There are loads of United lads that don't make it though, he had a habbit of picking the ones that would. He has a good eye for players who can step up.

Every scout has success stories, Walsh' wasn't just a success story, it was a fairytale. The defence were magnificent, Kante, Vardy & Mahrez were unbelievable, ably assisted by the rest. I just think Walsh seems to be getting all the plaudits and the likes of Pearson & Ranieri aren't getting enough. Even more so on here now it looks like we're gonna get him. Im just not convinced by him. He's had his moment & will live off it, as he should, for the rest of his life. His stock will never be higher. I'd just like to see someone a bit more prolific in finding talent. Only time will tell. One thing that really matters is winning, if we win, the scout is doing a great job (eg LLose, and it's the Manager. Not a bad job this DOF/scout.

The job Walsh has done can only be appreciated fully by Leicester fans, as nobody else was taking notice in league one or the championship. I've not seen Walsh get all the credit or more than the others... but recruitment, as Pearson used to say is the most important thing in football and he's done wonders here.

As I've said, plenty of question marks.... but I think it's a really exciting combination with him and Koeman, if they can get their relationship right then long term things will be interesting. Whether he works out or not, I think you're trying to do it the right way and that's encouraging for you.

Has every one forgotten where Leicester were 5 years ago? Also SW was appointed assistant manager at Leicester which, for a non-football playing background, is a great compliment to his ability as a coach and scout.

Good of you to congratulate us because I know it is frustrating to lose key members of your team, so cheers mate. If he can help us sign all players with the influence of Mahrez, Vardy or Kante, I'll certainly be happy!

Whereas I'm not sure you'll repeat what you did last season I can see Leicester City are going to be around now for a long time in the Premier League and with things like ground expansion and the like.

I don't think anything will critically impact Leicester even if some staff leave. You'll just get some new ones of your own.

Its a breath of fresh air to have non idiot fans actually chatting normal stuff about other teams. So fair play to you and Leicester.

I expect to see Leicester in and around the cups the next few seasons and with an expanding stadium.

As for Everton its early days in project-Moshiri.

I was never convinced it would be immediate. I always said to @The Esk it will be two or three seasons in which the true impact will be seen at Everton. This season is a case of trying to get CL and/or a cup for us. Next season absolutely.

Perhaps Everton were waiting on the DoF (Walsh) appointment before spending anything. Who knows?
