You know what mate ill be the first to say i haven't even heard of him - but i suppose out of certain circles you probably wouldn't. everyone speaks so highly of him though, and we do need a head of recruitment - in Koemans first interview he said when asked about working with a DoF - "call it head of scouting or sporting director" wonder if he would be involved more in the scouting side of things.
Been rumours of "technical" director coming in too - so who knows.
Good to know he is well thought of and people who know a lot more about football then me rate him.

We preferred him being our little secret... winning the league has gone and buggered that one up. Although, people might be able to take our players and staff, but they can never take that season from us. So no matter who goes, they gave us something special.

Yeah i dont know how accurate it is, do you know if he is a EFC supporter? I know his brother had a brief spell, but different reports say different things.
That season won't ever be taken away mate no matter what happens, but if we can rob (well looks like we will pay the compensation like) one of your secrets that helps us have some success we will take it!

Some nice posts from you mate, and informative as well, was always gonna be a tough off season for you as you exceeded even the most wildly optimistic expectations and guess thats being reflected with the vlutures circling around everyone and his dog for you.
End of the day, footy is all about the memories when it comes down to it, an dyou have some boss ones from last season

Surprised to hear that. Thought he had an assistant manager type role, as well as scouting, at LCFC so would've assumed assertiveness with the players at least was a given.
If he is Mr nice guy it's probably just as well as Koeman has a reputation for being somewhat confrontational.
Honestly not sure about him being a fan, conflicting reports.
I don't begrudge any of them a move, I'm just really disappointed that some of them aren't going to give next season a real go first. It's not like we finished 6th, we won the league by 10 points.
There was a real feeling with what we had on the patch, the team off it and some new signings we could do something special again. Seeing people walk away, for what is a backwards step is annoying. And I say that only based on last seasons positions and us being seeds in the champs league, end of next season it could be very different of course.
January if we were mid table or next summer, I think anyone could have gone with peoples blessing. Now it just leaves a bit of a bad taste.

No he's not. Don't worry. Several papers are making the same mistake.I think he probably played good cop to Pearsons bad cop. I don't think he's an assistant manager as people usually view them. I think that comes from being more than just a scout, helping the manager with the team building etc. He's not the guy on the training ground putting cones out and yelling at people, that's more Craig Shakespeare's job here.
Im a bit surprised at that myself. Everyone says "the league is the goal" or "I want to play in the CL". Well, you did both, why not see what you can do in the CL with the team that won the league? Makes no sense other than "i want to play for a team that will pay me a lot more".
Honestly think/thought if you kept your team together you could have done surprising things in the CL. Solid defense, pressing all over the park, high tempo counters.

Thing is mate, all the stuff spouted like that is usually to explain why they 'need' to move to a team like Chelsea, United, City etc
Only in something like this situation is it thrown into the spotlight as being utter guff they spout, what they really mean is that they want a club with a higher profile as it means they are much more likely to get better endorsements and sponsorship deals and that they want a absolutely massive wage in comparision to what they are currently on.
Reckon for example Lukaku who has spouted none stop about playing in the CL would turn down either United or Chelsea - neither of whom are in it next year if they made an offer good enough for us to accept
Money talks, the rest is rubbish. Kante telling everyone he was sold on Conte's project. What project would that be, winning the league and getting in the champs league. He was more sold on the extra 50k a week, which is sad as I didn't think he was like that. Drove a mini, wasn't flash at all... just a gut feeling on that one but I think he's been "advised" into it.
If we keep the rest I still think we can cause a few shocks, last 14 prem games without Kante we've only lost 1 game. So it's not like we're [Poor language removed] without the bloke.
