This game has now become more important and would see us go joint top going into the new year never would of seen that coming.

I think it would make us go into the transfer window with a loan or two with obligation to buy.
It would hopefully help us to attract a higher class of player if we are joint top.

Mental. City are beatable this season. We should have rested the team for the Worthless Cup game which would have meant we still had Richy now. We could be pushing for the title with a win here. Rotate the team after this one. Getting Champions league next season is imperative to bringing in top tallet.

They're beatable, every side is, but for me it's just about playing the odds. You go balls to the wall for a result against City, probably fail, then you're exhausted for an otherwise very winnable game against West Ham.

Some squads at the top end of the table can rotate the odd one or two players fairly consistently as they have actual squads. We don't. So where we have a game to rest the likes of Doucoure and DCL, ever presents in our side basically even if it means throwing the game, it's ultimately for the greater good IMO.

Spot on and even if we rotate 4-5 we can still do enough to nick a result if we set up right I mean who would have given WBA a chance against City and the RS?

Even if we went with a mix of:

Pickford
Coleman Keane Holgate Nkounkou
Davies Siggurdsson
Gomes
Gordon Toshun Bernard

If set up right we could still nick a result even just a point is a decent result.

What if we throw the City game AND get beat by West Ham?

Yeah, thought so!

Carlo hinted at rotation so I'm thinking something as follows. Tosun starting might look outlandish but it wouldn't surprise me.

Olsen

Coleman
Keane
Branthwaite
Godfrey

Gomes
Doucoure

Iwobi
Siggy
Gordon

Tosun

I would laugh wholeheartedly if Carlo went with his 10 most defensive players anf just camped 30 yards from goal. We held them to a 0-0 or nicked it from a set piece. I think Pep might self combust and we would be hated....

Love the hateful toffees me
