I agree, but, if by some miracle, Cruz wins the nomination, I think he'd have no hope in the general election. I think Trump has a chance against Clinton. I am opposed to pretty much every Cruz position but at least he's coherent and thought out. Trump baffles me, with the exception of immigration, he has no coherent position on anything, literally anything.

That isn't that unusual, Blair went into the 1997 General Election without any coherent positions.

The legal Hispanic immigrants would have had to jump through many hoops to get citizenship, plus paid taxes and in the case of those in manual labour probably been undercut by illegals.
So when someone comes along saying they will offer amnesty to the illegals in order to win a few votes it's not hard to see why they might get cheesed off.

Once again, it sounds as if those who you think would be cheesed off, are getting cheesed off with the wrong people. No one is being undercut by illegals (a disgraceful label by the way). People are however being exploited, including by those who are spreading fear and hate in order to win votes.

Don't you think it is a little hypocritical as the whole basis of the US is IMMIGRANTS!!!!! It's only wrong when I am on the correct side of the fence and safe.

What happened to land of the free home of the brave?

For all of its faults, America is a bloody awesome place to live (which is why I left )and millions upon millions want to get there so they can at least try to make a better life for themselves.

The Republicans solution to this is just so absolutely ridiculous and xenophobic. If they applied their own principals to the countries founders the USA would look nothing like it does today (and not in a good way).

No. Like you say, an act can be illegal. But a person never is. We don't call murderers, illegal murderers. Nor do we call terrorists, illegal terrorists, or peadophiles, illegal peadophiles. These are people who commit heinous crimes, yet we don't label them as illegal. With immigrants, labeling them as illegal is effectively acting as a judge, the jury and the executioner. It dehumanises individuals and is responsible for whipping up animosity towards people who are often already the most vulnerable in society.
