Weder Bremen finished two points closer to European football than we did, in a much weaker league and a league with less teams.

Ligue 1 gets 3 CL places, one less than the Premier League. It is nowhere near the level of the other ‘big’ leagues in Europe.

One point off Europa, 5 off Champions League compared to us finishing 3 off a Europa spot and 17, yes 17, off Champions League. For even more comparison, Reims in France finished 11 of Europa but same distance as us from Champions League, Lazio finish 7 off EL, 10 off CL in Serie A and Bilbao in La Liga were just 7 GOALS out from an EL spot and 8 off a CL place
