That's kind of my point. Moyes has bought well, but we don't maximise the returns when selling on.
Redknapp's transfer business is very much a one way street, he buys, buys, buys and has left clubs in trouble. Levy has worked wonders to recoup money for Redknapp's jettisoned players.

Agreed he doesn't seem to know when to stop, overtinkers if thats even a word

I don't think it's just talk when Moyes praises Kenwright. Bill gave him his chance and will stick by him through thick and thin. I think that Moyes needs that sort of stability to develop a project. He wouldn't want to go to a club where he could be sacked in a year or two. He's an empire builder rather than a manager for hire.

Even if Spurs get £25m for Modric, they need someone to replace the Croat and a striker as a minimum, so that's £12.5m each. It's more than he's been used to at Everton but he'd probably have to take a punt on someone like Cisse or Jelavic rather than being able to afford established stars. Spurs do have a wage cap as well so, even though he'd have some spending power, it would be like taking a crossbow (instead of his knife) to a gun fight.

He can praise him all he wants, but when he takes about ambition he's not putting kenwrong in with that sentence.

Hell get sacked if he doesn't deliver, hell stay on if he does. Unlike here where hell stay regardless of what happens. There's no pressure to succeed here, he puts it on himself. So if he wants to actually be able to deliver his ambition with a chairman who will be as tough as he is if he doesn't deliver, I can't see why he wouldn't jump at it.

With teams wanting more, there's pressure and risk. With teams who's owner's are just happy floating along, there's no risk. Spurs are in a far better position than we are as a club, with an owner who wants to succeed at the top level, in a club that can attract talent.

Everything else is just nitpicking at certain elements that are arguable. But the fact is, its a step up as a coach to try and compete. Everton are stagnant

Yeah I agree, im not gonna change peoples minds, it just annoys me when people spout tosh.

Im done anyway, Moyes aint going anywhere, so its pointless discussing it.

Hope you're right. Count me as one who will warn people to be careful for what they wish for. Just try and get someone better than Moyes with no net spend in sight.

I also stand by my comments that Redknapp's appointment would see us seen as a bigger club than we are under Moyes. So I ask you what's tosh about what I wrote, oh wise one.

By who? Me? No way, he's a liability.

By the press? almost certainly as he's a rent-a-quote, loves a chat through his car window, market trader. Has the press eating out his hands and rakes it in from them as a result.. He'd be exhalted by the red tops anywhere he goes.

Redknapp pushed the buttons in the press to get himself in the frame for the England gig. Became 'the nation's choice' and then looked like a massive tit when the FA weren't interested in the slightest. Levy's obviously fed up of Harry casting admiring glances at other jobs at a point where he needs stability.

Would he make Everton a bigger club? Would he arse.

It's only a step up if the job is to his liking. If he has a supportive and not combative and questioning chairman. If he has complete control over playing matters. If there aren't warring political factions at the club.

The fact is, Redknapp 'delivered'. Only a freak set of circumstances of the 6th placed club winning the CL stopped then getting CL footy for the 2nd time in 3 years. Moyes has long spoken out about the values of stability, of having autonomous control. Spurs are not Everton - and for all the positives reasons why they are not (more money for a start), there are also lots of negative reasons too, in how they are worse off than Everton. Negatives to the point that they might be deal breakers.

As Pienaar found out, the grass isn't always greener. What seems likes a great move and career enhancement on paper doesn't always turn out like that. The only thing stagnant at Everton is the finances, not the manner in which Moyes manages the teams, seeks out new players and turns things around.

lol. Redknapp would mean that Everton were perceived as a bigger club by most than under Moyes imo. He has that quality. I think we'd be more likely to attract investment too. But that's just me, (and I am a genius) and the truth is there's as much chance of Redknapp replacing Moyes as me or you. Don't particularly want Moyes out anyway.

I was hoping to come here at get some info on Moyes's situation but got nothing. Must not be anything trusthworthy out there yet

What's tosh about it? The part about Redknapp I stand by, and if Moyes does leave I can't think of a better man to replace Moyes with. Even Wayne Rooney wanted Redknapp to be the England manager. That says something - players want to play for him.

I never said I hate Moyes or want him out.

I'd rather iron my own b0llocks than see that wobbly-headed Venables wannabe in charge of my club
