Premature evaluation

I've noticed a trend, arguably intensifying, amongst the good posters of GOT to rapidly evaluate new players.

Recent examples that come to mind are Mykolenko, Onana and McNeil. The example of one Alex Iwobi, written off by many (myself included), is perhaps a lesson to us that players can come good.

So, friends, are we too knee jerk? Should we be more generous in allowing players time to bed in, find form or develop?
I think iwobi was poor until lampard gave him a central position. Before that his performances justified the negative comments as it was a considerable amount of game time he was judged on.
it's like watching 2 different players and fair play to him recently.

Anyone who writes off a new player who has just joined and gets minutes here and there ...well I dont bother reading their posts. imagine anyone walking into a new job and after a week they were judged.

mcneil and onana etc I'll judge at the end of the season as players for the club. i would think commenting on their individual match form is not the same as writing off their everton careers.

Yes it's pathetic

Onana had a ropey 5 mins and he's now gbamin and now Tarkowski is now Michael Keane

It's tedious listening to same negative faeces pour out of people's mouths

Maybe

But equally Everton fans are too happy to tolerate rubbish for too long. There are players in the squad who should have been moved on years ago.

There is plenty of time for McNeil to prove himself. But equally there's no point saying hes been good when he's been really poor. I just think he's a poor signing and fixes none of our problems. That's not his fault, its the fault of bad planning and poor recruitment

He could certainly add more intensity and fight to his game. That would be an easy improvement

Spot on.

Not only that, fans are too stubborn. They'd rather be proved right on an internet forum with their initial edgy assessment than change their minds and admit they were too rash/unfair in their judgement.
