Look I’m no fan of his, far from it, but it’s probably best to leave his family out of it.
And without knowing him personally, we don’t know his feelings towards his wife.
I’m not a fan of him, far from it, but let’s not sink to the gutter.
^ Totally agree with this.
I also don't know him, I've never met the bloke and I've had one dealing with him - I emailed him in 2018 asking if he'll do a piece on the mishmash for the echo, and followed up in 2019. He gave me the courtesy of a response, but the article never happened.
As a fan base, and as a fan platform/community - we risk losing validity if we're perceived to go into the gutter.
Comments of a personal nature, is uncalled for and totally unbecoming of the forum. That's not us, we're better than that.
Also - a Communication Manager's job isn't to be a spokesperson or communicate themselves directly on behalf of the club. It seems a few don't seem able to grasp that. In fact, I'd be concerned if a senior communication manager for a premier league club was using their personal twitter account to issue key comms updates...
I'm of the view that anyone involved with communications in the past year has been involved in ensuring relationship between club and fans is at it's lowest - incredibly ill-advised statements have been released repeatedly. I'm not sure how much a senior communications manager can have a say on that? If a owner, chairman or board want to put a message on a website, they will.
Can we now see Everton Jersies on open sale in Irish sports shops? Sick of seeing rs, City United, Chelsea. We must rebuild all over the Club
Dedicated shops have been opened in recent years (well, Belfast at least) and they've had to close because as expected - there wasn't the demand.
I'll close this because it doesn't, and hasn't ever sat right with me for us to be hosting critique towards middle management employees directly. Board room level/criticism towards club comms is one is one thing, but threads like this just feel a bit iffy to me. Sorry folks
