Im glad for the USA.

But when will people get that Landon Donovan is not our player, and is only likely to be so again for at best a few weeks in winter?

Really pleased for the Americans. They deserved it, they played well today. No matter what happens from now on in the tourny, You can always say you beat England in the group.

That's irrelevent. He doesn't play for us.

None the less he has been very complimentry about the club and the fans after and during his loan spell, he did very well here. Both Donovan and Everton are interested in having him back at the club. So I think we can treat him as a special case, even if he doesn't play for us at the moment.

We cant afford him

God, I loved him during his loan spell, but I will eat my shoes if we sign him on a permanent deal

And look at Lewis Holtby in Germany. Has confessed that he's a diehard Evertonian, but I dont see anyone creaming themselves whenever he scores a goal.

At the moment we can't, but the future is unsure with Pienaar and possibly the Yak. If they go for a lot of money ( and if they go, they will go for as much as possible if our past selling record is anything to go by) Donovan could be on his way. Also does anyone know the exact figure for Donovan?

Do you think Lewis Holtby could do a job for us?( Heard of him but not aware of his level of ability) All good and well if he is a diehard Evertonian, heck lets sign David Nugent if that is the only criteria. Moyes has not expressed intrest in him coming back to the club, he has for Donovan.

The result could have been 6-1...some very poor finishing.

Kudos to Bornstein for stepping up and playing a flawless defensive game. Howard's distribution was great, and the US controlled the midfield from start to finish.
