No, cause this summer they will rewrite the rule book to make sure they are covered if this ever happens again.

The PL will be distraught they never had the same rule as France that the table stands as it is however they never and that's why they will be left with no choice but to cancel in the end, this season.

No rule for this has left them with no where to go legally and the relegation threatened clubs know it and won't be letting go of the bone they've been thrown. They'll make sure another ball isn't kicked this season if the players, Government or Uefa don't do it for them first.

Its hard though with such a rule, as it has practical implications. Sides will start wanting fixtures which are easier earlier on. They are actually fine in the rules (nominally an incomplete season should be cancelled) but we know the selfishness of Liverpool makes this very difficult. This decision is also made by 14 teams. While I don't think there are 14 teams who will necessarily want to cancel, I don't think there will be 14 who will be happy to foot the inevitable legal battle and likely costs that will follow.

If I was Everton's representative at the talks, and (for example) Liverpools rep started piping up about relegating teams, I would ask him who he felt was covering the legal costs. If you're desperate to finish the season fine, but you foot the bills. Don't expect me to foot the bills for your vanity project. I do think you will see those sort of thoughts come to the fore.

Training without tackling, is anyone else thinking of Mike Bassett when they trained without a football?

And people honestly wonder why the bottom 6 don't want relegation added to this farce? Sure play the games to fulfil the contract (even if it does enormous damage to the country as it will) but don't start trying to make out any fundamental decisions can be made off the back of this farce.

Its not crass, they have to PLAN, no decision will be made until a few days before the PLANNED start. The final decision will be made by the experts. If it’s not safe to do so they won’t be starting anything. Do you really think if it wasn’t safe they’d just start anyway? The PL aren’t bending over backwards at all, why on earth would they? They are leaving their options open........hoping. Just like hundreds of thousands of companies are doing by furloughing, buying time hoping it settles. Or can’t these organisations have a plan? It’s probably not going to in the time frame they want it to though, so it’s it’s all moot anyway. No need to be so outraged though.
Sounds like you're crying and shaking there mate. Cheer up there's always next season.

The Italian league is still in doubt:

The FIGC medical commission claims the Government is ‘throwing a spanner in the works’ and with the changes to the COVID-19 protocol, ‘Serie A will not resume.’

There is a battle of medical, technical and scientific committees breaking out, as the one formed by the Football Federation (FIGC) saw its protocol for training rejected again by the Government’s (CTS) panel of experts.

They are demanding that if one player or member of staff tests positive for coronavirus after contact training has begun, the entire group must go into quarantine for 15 days.
