Proposed changes to the Premier league

If utd and the RS don't want to play the league cup why don't they field B teams or kids, not sure why they have to scrap it. I'm sure city will keep playing in it anyhow.
Are the RS trying to scrap the LC before someone like City knocks them off their perch and they start becoming irrelevant? This will just prevent younger squad members being given a chance to show what they can do.

Sad thing is I bet the Everton higher ups are all in favour of this

Well it should surely draw out Moshiri/Usmanov’s motives for getting involved in Everton. If we are just a billionaires vanity project or plaything then there is surely nothing to be gained for them going along with these plans. If they are looking for a return on investment then it’s probably not such a clear decision.

Really sad that you only need to change two letters in that post & it sums up brexit

Dude. I don't want to get political but now you've started it, the EU wrote the book on how to set up a cartel of the elite and rig the game in your own favour while denying everyone else meaningful voting rights. It's almost a perfect blueprint for what these ****houses are doing.

Power & cash grab, pure and simple.

After this broke I spent a couple of hours loitering around Man UTD and Liverpool forums to get a gauge of their thoughts and it was good to hear that most I read were against the Top 6/9 'mafia', one post stood out on RAWK.

With Man City spending all that cash and Chelsea before them, coming in and disrupting the status quo at the time. Now with Tottenham more consistent, Leicester winning the PL and maybe pushing top 6 again, Everton finally getting their act together matching a manager with their wealth. Wolves even. The likes of Man Utd and Arsenal are no longer guaranteed Champions League or even Europa League Football. I wonder why the top 6/9 want to decide who can or cannot buy a club?

Why should those clubs decide what is best when the picture could be different in the next 5 years?

All this talk about a Super League, I'd actually feel for the real fans of those clubs if that happened. You know they are plastics when they think it's a good idea. Maybe it's a little different being a lower league fan but away days and travelling the country is one of the best things about football.

In a way you have answered your own question there! This proposal is entirely self serving and a matter of protecting their own self interest! “The likes of Man Utd and Arsenal are no longer guaranteed...............”. The likes of Man U and Arsenal can see times are changing with the progress being made by Everton, Wolves and Leicester and they are scared of losing their place at the feeding trough of the Sky top six dining table!

You enjoy your straight bananas pal

We've already lost the league I grew up watching. Remember Nottm Forest getting promoted? Their first game the next season was at Goodison where they spanked us. Went on to become champions. Can you imagine that happening now? Thanks Scudamore........

This is phase two. A boring league in which a small handful of clubs have a chance of silverware......

Oh wait we've got that already. So phase two must be "Let's make more money!!!"

Nice. If you can tell me how Von Der Leyen and Lagarde got the power to run Europe and control the money, I'll back off right now.

Actually, forget it, mate. I'm not here to talk about that. Let's concentrate on the footy.
