I always thought the EL/CL entry was an invite from UEFA. The individual countries decide who can be invited via league/cup placings, but ultimately, its an invite. Its why UEFA can remove an invite due to FFP etc etc.

Sommet legal folk can argue about I guess.

Its all wording. Uefa invite but leagues 'nominate' through placings. As you say, legal people know more.

I know that from a personal perspective, we would probably love that above others but there's a line that the FA, the Prem, and the other teams need to draw 'in the sand' here. If there isn't a punishment that would make the likes of Henry and Glazer think twice then they or those like them will try it again at some point. Relegation would not be unprecedented, look what happened to Rangers.

Ranger weren’t relegated,they went bust and reformed,the new club got placed in the Scottish bottom tier.
