I don't think your view is extreme re prostitution at all.

For me equally it is morally wrong. Then there's the question of whether the girl is a willing participant in her trade - how can you ever know whether or not she (or he) is a victim of some form of enslavement?

In addition there's the question of do you really want to be intimate with someone who is going to have several other clients before and after you?

There's several other points I could raise but for me it is wrong on every level.

Time to regulate it, keep it cleaner and safer for all involved.

I'd hazard a guess the ladies would be taken advantage of just as much, if not more, just by shady characters masquerading as respectable businessmen. Perhaps more financially than anything else which is probably better, I suppose.

I guess there's 3 reasons why someone becomes a prostitute : forced to by a pimp/sex gang, to pay off debts,feed an addiction, and of their own free will cause they enjoy it/make good money.

It's not that difficult to seperate the latter from the former 2. Sure, i'd understand thinking the first 2 are morally wrong but the last one, can't see anything wrong with using the services they offer if both parties are happy to do so.

Wouldn't disagree, but it ain't going to go away so ( bearing in mind I'm talking about the UK here, Texas is probably different ) you either leave it as it is, or try and make it "less bad".

In the UK it's legal for someone to take money for sex, it's how they go about "advertising" that fact which can make it illegal.

If you put aside any initial moral objections based on principles then it's really a case of are the girls ( and lads ) in the sex industry going to be healthier and safer in a regulated industry, to which the answer is almost certainly yes ? Against that, if prostitution is regulated will more people join the sex industry who don't really want to be doing it but see an opportunity to make cash ( or are being manipulated ) ?

haha maybe, but I'm inclined to think there is a certain prostitution culture in Texas, (as of course there will be in most American states), it's what Javier Bardem's killer character was based on in No Country For Old Men, he was meant to look like a typical Texas brothel client
