Pubs in Liverpool

The Philharmonic for the bogs, the beer, when I've been in, has been crap.
The Roscoe Head always keep their beers in tip top condition.
The Vernon Arms always had a good selection of ales, with the added bonus of a lack of mouthy teenagers.
And many more...
Three world class boozers by any standard there.

Honourable mentions to :

The Belverdere - cracking ale, wonderful selection of whiskies and one of the nicest places to sit outside in Liverpool when the weathers nice.

Just up the road, the Caledonia - another one with cracking ale, possibly one of the cheapest pubs in Liverpool and a wonderfully eclectic clientele.

Around the corner, the Casa - another with a mad mix of customers and a city centre community boozer.

Down the road - The Roscoe Head - it`s been in every edition of the Good Beer guide, what more is to be said.

Around the corner - The Dispensary - cracking ale, full of character and gets busy on match days ( not sure if he crazy owner is still there ? )

A bit of walk, down towards the Docks - The Baltic Fleet, another wonderful old boozer, with a big selection of ales and world beers ( card only )
Yes to the Belvedere, Roscoe , Dispensary & Caledonia. All excellent examples of the kind of pub that sets this city apart from every other.

The Casa though on my radar, I must admit I haven’t been in. In my ignorance I’d written it off as a fancy modern bar that I wouldn’t like. I will make a point of visiting next chance I get. 👍

I only lived in your excellent city for 3 months or so, but these highlighted above were excellent. We also liked The Grapes, and I was fond of The Pen Factory for a completely different feel (no idea if it's still around). The Fly in the Loaf was my "local" of sorts (we rented an apartment from the University of Liverpool on Myrtle St) and I got to know Dom and Fiona. This was back in 2014...damn I'm getting old.

Good friend of mine is moving to Dublin next month. Flights are relatively cheap to Dublin, so I can stay with him and grab one of those god-awful, but cheap, RyanAir flights from Dublin to Liverpool, so I'm hoping to be back soon. Last time I was in Liverpool was in 2019 and for about 35 hours and I covered a lot of ground, pubwise.

Fly in the Loaf is still there. 👍😄
I’ll be in Dublin for the Europa league final towards the end of the month too as it happens. Yeah I hate Ryan air too but when needs must. That said we are on the Ferry ⛴️ from Holly head for this one

The pen factory is still there, I was there last night. Decent place.

all great pubs mentioned.

Here’s a few I enjoy that haven’t been mentioned.

The rose and crown- My go to for a Friday night pint after work. Less busy than most on Dale street. It’s a mixture of arl fella regulars and office worked on a Friday night so it’s a bit mad.

Cornmarket- Aesthetically beautiful in there and really good Guinness.

Newington temple- Just down the side of bold street. When everywhere is really busy you can get a seat here and it’s always a decent vibe.

Head of steam- It’s a chain pub but must be the best selection of ale in the city
