Pubs in Liverpool

all great pubs mentioned.

Here’s a few I enjoy that haven’t been mentioned.

The rose and crown- My go to for a Friday night pint after work. Less busy than most on Dale street. It’s a mixture of arl fella regulars and office worked on a Friday night so it’s a bit mad.

Cornmarket- Aesthetically beautiful in there and really good Guinness.

Newington temple- Just down the side of bold street. When everywhere is really busy you can get a seat here and it’s always a decent vibe.

Head of steam- It’s a chain pub but must be the best selection of ale in the city
Love the Cornmarket. Got introduced to that one by @Groucho . Has been my to go to pub ever since when visiting Liverpool. Sadly been far too long now. Hopefully next season.🙏

Yes I love the Cornmarket it is aesthetically beautiful in there. It feels like the inside of the titanic or something in there.
The Rose and Crown I like too. I’ve not been to the Head of Steam though. Is it on Hanover / Ranelagh street?
Newington Temple is a new one on me too so I’m adding it to the list. 👍

Honourable mentions to :

The Belverdere - cracking ale, wonderful selection of whiskies and one of the nicest places to sit outside in Liverpool when the weathers nice.

Just up the road, the Caledonia - another one with cracking ale, possibly one of the cheapest pubs in Liverpool and a wonderfully eclectic clientele.

Around the corner, the Casa - another with a mad mix of customers and a city centre community boozer.

Down the road - The Roscoe Head - it`s been in every edition of the Good Beer guide, what more is to be said.

Around the corner - The Dispensary - cracking ale, full of character and gets busy on match days ( not sure if he crazy owner is still there ? )

A bit of walk, down towards the Docks - The Baltic Fleet, another wonderful old boozer, with a big selection of ales and world beers ( card only )
This was, for many years, my go-to pub in the area, and I spent a lot of time in there. However, the last few times have been in my humble opinion... meh.

Admittedly, I haven't been for a while for the following reasons, however it changed hands, and it felt very sterile, with a lot of the regulars disappearing.

Hopefully, it has picked up again and rediscovered some of its soul. I'm a fan of the Dispensary, and the Casa is good for a few beers - well, lagers.

The Bull's Head, as it once was, was the part of the pub that is on Moor St, and it holds a lot of sentimental value to me.

I only lived in your excellent city for 3 months or so, but these highlighted above were excellent. We also liked The Grapes, and I was fond of The Pen Factory for a completely different feel (no idea if it's still around). The Fly in the Loaf was my "local" of sorts (we rented an apartment from the University of Liverpool on Myrtle St) and I got to know Dom and Fiona. This was back in 2014...damn I'm getting old.

Good friend of mine is moving to Dublin next month. Flights are relatively cheap to Dublin, so I can stay with him and grab one of those god-awful, but cheap, RyanAir flights from Dublin to Liverpool, so I'm hoping to be back soon. Last time I was in Liverpool was in 2019 and for about 35 hours and I covered a lot of ground, pubwise.
@tommye and I will hold the place in great stead because of Paddy; the Everyman was my go-to Friday drink for years before the change.

It is mate, yeah. Right where the Epstein used to be.

Newington is a lovely pub and always quite quiet when I go. It’s just down the side a bold street so I think a lot of people aren’t aware of it as it isn’t that visible

Cheers for that I’ll definitely check both of those out in that case.

Never been to that one. Won’t rush to it either on that recommendation!

Back in the day, it was a lovely characterful boozer. Serving the Playhouse theater crowd in the evenings.

Run by 2 wonderful sisters, fantastic mild and bitter on hand pulled draught.

It has now been gutted out in white plastic, and plastered with photos of 'celebs'.

As previously posted, it was disgusting, and I would not trust the ale there.

SWERVE big-time.

That whole part of town has so much wasted potential.
