Southgate put a plan in place that controlled the game against a very good France side while also mostly stopping the counters. I think you have to give him another couple of years to see where he takes it.

For me England looked a good team when they were chasing the game, they looked quite ordinary when the game was tied and France were comfortably on top for those spells

Wasn’t willing enough to change it after the equaliser, which is the exact same story as the final against Italy too

I’m normally fairly neutral when watching England play, but there’s something very unlikeable about that French team. Whether it’s mbappe’s smug face, deschamp’s white saliva flecked scowling mouth, giroud’s perfectly coiffured hair and beard, Lloris’ clown like antics. Chavvie griezman.
