International football always highlights for me how much more interesting club football would be with some kind of controls in place to prevent the super clubs being 140 times better than the rest of the teams. Really am not looking forward us get utterly demolished by City in 3 weeks.

Maybe England losing will put some of the players coming home on a downer and we will do better against the teams some of them play for,just a thought,then again I hope Pickford doesn’t feel the same way??

In what way? Name a team we have beaten at a tournament we weren’t favourites to beat? No one is looking at Belgium and thing how well Martinez did because Belgium were crap for a while before this generation of players.

Personally think Southgate has done well at laying the foundations for a good manager to take England all the way but when he goes there won’t be a single premier club looking to poach him never mind one of the tops ones and yet we are still expected to believe he is a top manager?

El Tel was a great manager, if he’d had come in earlier than he did then he’d have got England to USA 94 imo, Taylor should have gone after Euro 92
