A proper film maker. Great writer. Great at getting performances out of actors. One of the best ‘scene’ directors out there. The guy knows how to put a movie together.

Sure, his films have their problems, as most do.

But in an age where studio-commissioned, off the shelf, predictable superhero movies are the ones that tend to make money, l for one, think having a genuine film maker, who has an idea about what his (or her) movie should be, and is given the freedom to make that happen, to their vision, is a great thing.

He's got a point. However, the guy has spent his career aping off of spaghetti westerns, B-Movies and Japanese cinema extensively so despite his obvious talent, his attempts at taking the high ground make my eyes roll a bit.

His best film since Jackie brown for me. Had a real heart to it.

He’s brilliant, but can miss from time to time with some of his stuff.

I think he’s earned the right to say what he wants to say about the state of cinema and have people take notice. Same for Marty.

It's a market, again, destroyed by the man baby incel (comic book films) as those actors get snapped up by the franchise's and get paid a lot.

It's either the biggest film ever or mumblecore at the moment

Non english language films are still great

Korean movies are superb.
