Quitting Alcohol

I really think you might be overthinking it mate. If you feel generally unwell, you should get checked ASAP. But as far as your drinking goes:

FIFA 17 mate,

2-3 times a day is a great problem to have. His poor willy must be chafed raw, mind.

Go the Drs for a check up @ItsOKImAPilot . Preggers or not, you're experiencing atypical feelings and are also concerned about your drinking habits (though they do not seem to be due to dependence).

Being a teetotaller all my life I can't give great advice on the bevvies other than to suggest getting mixed nonalcoholic drinks like virhin cocktails or iced teas if you're simply looking for refreshing drinks on a hot day

So I have recently stopped drinking alcohol altogether and am actually concerned with how hard it is. I never considered any kind of dependence on it because I never thought about drinking. We would enjoy a beer or two while grilling or some wine with dinner which never seemed like a bad thing.

I have recently just stopped with it all and it's been rather hard. No red wine with steak, no beer with a cheeseburger, etc. It scares me a bit. Has anyone gone through this?

The computer says NO........

I stopped drinking alcohol at home a year ago.

Hasn't bothered me in the slightest.

In fact, i'm all the better for it. Lost loads of weight (although taking up running again last year has helped there) and I've got more money to spend.

I still drink when I go out - usually 2-3 times a month. Enjoy drinking so much more then too.

i'll drink to that !!

This is me as well (except 5 or 6 rather than the 10 or 12). Would like to cut it down a bit but it seems to be something of a celebration that I am not in work the next day and it just seems to happen...
I had a potentially very damaging relationship with Lady Booze for a number of years. I was drinking four/five cans every night whatever was happening. For reasons that I might one day be brave enough to discuss in the depression thread, I made a number of decisions. One of them was setting myself a rule - no drinking the night before a day I have to work. I've stuck to it to the point where I only have a beer on a Saturday night now, regardless of whether the rule 'allows' other nights (eg: Fridays, days when I'm on leave from work). I'm pleased that I've proved to myself that I'm not alcoholic, as that was a concern. I've also dropped a lot of weight, and though I'm not out of the woods entirely, my mental health has improved too.

I'd probably drink more if I didn't suffer so badly from hangovers.

It took me 4 days to get over my stag weekend a few weeks back, I consciously take it easier on a night out now compared to when I was younger as I can't be doing with wasting a full day in bed the next day.

Love a few pints watching the match though.

I love drinking at home. Love cooking a massive meal on the weekend with a beer or a glass of wine.

Me too. See absolutely nothing odd enjoying a pint or some wine with Mrs R most nights.

Dont "need" booze, just enjoy the End of the Day/cooking supper routine.

Booze has always been a feature in my whole family. Never any times, be it Sunday lunch at my parents, a funeral/wedding etc etc, where it hasnt been there. None of us has ever had a problem with addiction or that, just been ever present in my life.

People have different perceptions of it. I know people who will only drink 6 pints and cannot entertain the thought of just having one - they don't see the point. I don't see 'drunk' with booze, I see social, relaxing and a nice taste.
