Be really interesting to see how many new players Rafael can get in before it starts. Two or at the most three I guess. He must know the big weakness is midfield and of course goal scorers.

We have quite a few players in the squad who provide nothing but goal scoring.

It's not though because while we do have quite a few players who aren't at the level we need I also think we've had two managers now who were more than content to not work on getting anything from them.
Don't disagree, mate. I don't say all that much on here, and two thirds of that is because something strikes me as mildly amusing, rather that what I actually think. Although, I believe there are a lot of players who don't, or barely, contribute, I don't discount the possibility of a different /better manager extracting some significant value from some.

Wish we had hired one of those

Spitty C raised some points on the all together podcast. That Benitez does well at clubs on the so called "fringes of the elite". Which included the likes of Valencia, Liverpool (at the time), and Napoli. So after looking into that:

LIVERPOOL

2015-17 - 87 / 35

Need to move quick to get him some capable players in
Capable????? Too much of a radical departure from our recent acquisition policy, I think. Think the next step from our current 'clueless' policy should be mildly inept, then bang average. 'Capable' is several windows away, I imagine. 'Good' probably substantially beyond that.

As much as I am loathe to say it, there is no way in hell you can say Liverpool are/were on the "fringes of the elite."
