Exactly this, for him it's a marriage of convenience. Property, family and long standing deep connections with this area make it an ideal move for him to get back into premiership management.
I've no illusions, he's professional enough to do a thorough job of work and won't lack for effort and commitment but I question whether his heart will be anything like remotely in the job.
You can take him physically away from Liverpool and Anfield but you can never take the kopite out from his heart.
I'm completely disinterested in our fortunes this season and for the first time in my whole life will take a detached viewpoint, little interested if we win, draw or lose, win a trophy or are relegated. Everton will be as much a part of me as my other club - their results as relevant as say Watford's or Villa's.
At least I won't care about football this season and not suffer as usual.
