It’s almost like you shift the parameters on a regular basis mate rather than say “I worded that badly “ or “yeah I was wrong “ .
We were by far the slowest team I seen last year, no other team turned back and passed back to the centre halves as much as us.We were on safer ground because we're not very good, and one of the slowest teams in the league. However there will be seasons where playing like that loses you most away games. I can remember seasons where we've gone away and set up to be hard to beat and ended up with 2 or 3 away wins all season. If that had happened last season we'd have been relegated.
The one sure thing this thread establishes is that in no way was this appointment in any way divisive.
Oh dear..... revisionist crap.No one liked Alladyce because at the time we were still in the early days of finally having money and were expecting a world class manager coming in.
Fast forward 4 years after Brands has wasted money on tosh and left us in a precarious position FFP wise, added in with the new stadium being under way - most fans are realistic in knowing Benitez was likely the best available manager this summer - the only top manager who was floating around was Conte and no way was he taking this job when we supposedly have some form of FFP restrictions in terms of spending.
Everyone backed Koeman, Silva and Carlo from the start so it should be no different with Benitez. If he does well here the history books wont forget the names of those abusing him from day 1.
Ok i can’t speak for anyone else but you’re wrong , why would I want a team that I’ve spent tens of thousands of pounds on to lose games and him to drop points? The team that I’ve watched with generations of flashmans and that has given me more joy (just ) and more tears (a lot ) than anything but family in this this world . Sorry mate you’re completely and utterly wrong & I’m not having it .Wouldn't even say its divisive. You have those relatively happy providing he kicks the squad into touch @davek
Those not bothered but happy to give him a chance before a ball has been kicked @ForeverBlue92
Those pretending they are happy to back him but cant wait to turn the moment he drops points @Harryflashman
Those who are quite open in not backing him and want him gone right away even if we lose games @windymiller @Tommy. Etc
Thats your 4 camps but really split into two camps varying in the extremes.

I can’t reiterate this enough I hope he never ever loses a game , I hope the doubts I have are proved wrong , I hope he’s passionate about the job , full of energy and up for the fight . Is that clear enough ?
I’ll point the finger at that useless shower because most of them are just that , I won’t pretend he’ll get as long as if he was a former Everton captain or even probably if he wasn’t just a RS but I’m not looking to crucify the fella.Tbf mate I didnt say you wouldn't be bothered if we lost - I just get the feeling you're one of the ones who as soon as we lose the manager will be to blame even if its Pickford dropping the ball into his own net.
Not the most extreme in wanting him sacked asap but not willing to give him a fair crack of the whip either if you was honest?

I did.No one liked Alladyce because at the time
Breeds confidence. PricelessCreeping past Blackburn with a near-full strength squad?
That's a yikes
