We’re on our way to a heading ban over the coming generation, I think. Maybe it’ll start with heading only being allowed in the area or something, but I think it’s looking pretty inevitable in the long term.

I thought RB was doing that for you already. The day that rule comes in is the day football is no longer football and I just stop watching.

Agreed, maybe we could find a way to compensate the players for the injuries caused, I dunno, maybe pay them wages massively above and over the rate that normal workers get....................................The day that rule comes in is the day football is no longer football and I just stop watching.
What a daft comment.Agreed, maybe we could find a way to compensate the players for the injuries caused, I dunno, maybe pay them wages massively above and over the rate that normal workers get....................................
Sound, he can go work in Maccies then. What a daft comment.
Pretty sure anyone would rather not get Alzheimer's no matter what wage they're getting. "I made millions so I can't complain about this disease that's going to turn me into a zombie and decimate my family's lives"
Preposterous. We’re on our way to a heading ban over the coming generation, I think. Maybe it’ll start with heading only being allowed in the area or something, but I think it’s looking pretty inevitable in the long term.
And how many safety protocols are now in place in mines because of the amount of deaths relating to it?Sound, he can go work in Maccies then.
I mean not every footballer gets Alzheimer's tho do they.
Stick them down a mine on 30k a year they will be begging to head footys after a week.
An Everton fan, who no doubt remembers Gray, Sharp and Duncan playing for us, not to mention the boy Dixie, wanting heading banned? And how many safety protocols are now in place in mines because of the amount of deaths relating to it?
A lot more to football than heading. Remember when people moaned about Lukaku never heading the ball? He's done pretty well away from it. Same with Messi
Your chances of getting a debilitating disease aren't exactly higher from getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly.Preposterous.
Whatever next? a ban on kicking your opponent in the nuts?
Any examples of any proper sports?Your chances of getting a debilitating disease aren't exactly higher from getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly.
Rugby has put protocols to protect the player. Same with NFL. Things that were the norm in those sports are now looked back in horror. As well as that both sports haven't been negatively affected by it.
Dunc would have never stood for playing footy in a crash helmet in his day.Any examples of any proper sports?
I mean did they ban throwing the ball in Rugby?

Im not saying they should head footballs made of fire and if theres any safety measures they can take, then great, the concussion protocol is a great idea, but banning headers? No mate.If you had the choice to be a millionaire footballer but die a little bit earlier sign me up.
Most of them are fairly old anyhow. Jeff Astle went before his time but the rest were in their 70s/80s. You have to die of something in the end and I would guess the damage of heading a modern football is nowhere near as dangerous to your health as one of the old ones.
