I think benitez is doing slightly worse than ancelotti but not Alot, seeing as ancelotti is prob Better manager this seems about right... But then loads of fans wanted ancelotti out, its all v confusing

He is doing a good job with the tools he has...he needs to be given funds and total control of signings in the next couple of windows...
No money available for January....people are expecting miracles. Crap like Davies, Iwobi, Rondon gomes Keane will still be here next season as we can't get rid. (or at least Brands can't)
Something is rotten in the state of Everton

We'll agree to disagree.

I was born in 93. I dont remember some of the really bad times but I dont think the current situation is at all comparable

I think any relegation talk at the minute is total hysteria and only serves to let the club off the hook by reducing expectations. We should be expecting far better than 40 points. This same squad got 59 last year. 40 would be a pathetic result.

God I feel old, Wimbledon and Coventry don’t seem that long ago. Back then you’d look at the fixtures and try and pick the ones you had a hole in and work out permutations to get to 40, I found myself triggering the old skill set looking at our fixtures up to Xmas, trying to work out when players would be back this week. We’re in a run of relegation form at the moment, no doubt since the Utd game. We have to hope it pick up, but there is a risk.

I wouldn’t be to complacent mate, in your expierence you may have always seen Everton been alright, but it hasn’t always been like that and given the team, depth, recruitment and injuries there is a risk of getting sucked in, I’ve seen worse Everton teams, but they’ve had a more competitive spirit then this team. I wouldn’t fancy this team to pull away from trouble if they got sucked into it.

25 points to go……

I just find it funny how its the first thing that comes into the usual suspects minds regardless of performance/result.

He did literally nothing wrong today in the grand scheme of things yet @Kev The Rat et al are falling over their own own cocks scrambling in here foreboding of relegation when we are comfortably upper mid table lol

You've been found out Marius - have some dignity and lay low until the day comes when we may go into freefall and in the bottom 3 then you might have some joy in trying to destabilise the club even more than it currently is.

“DIGNITY” lol lol lol lol lol

But you're ignoring the key point

Why would 40 points be the target when basically the same squad got 59 last season? Surely that would be enormous regression.

Why should we allow expectations to be lowered so far in only 12 months.

The argument against Ancelotti was that we were getting worse. Benitez's stats now are almost as good as after Ancelotti's first 10 games last season (in some respects better), and that's a good starting point. If we get progressively worse throughout the season, and as we approach March / April, Benitez will also be criticized.

Again football isn't won on paper you keep repeating the same nonsense.

Brighton aside our two best performances have been Utd and Spurs - we should have taken the 3 points from both and have been done by VAR twice.

Thats Everton - we lose at home to Sheff Utd then beat Leicester away from home.

“ YOU KEEP REPEATING THE SAME NONSENSE “

Loooooooooooooool lol
