So were now on 15pts after 11 games. My prediction was 24pts after 13 games, thats now impossible.

If we can get 3pts from City/Brentford then we'll be 6pts off my prediction.

That would be 'ok' bearing in mind our injuries and some bad 'luck'.

Still though, the manager doesnt seem to be positively affecting the squad:

-- The defence doesnt look drilled
-- Theres no attacking strategy (long balls?)
-- Substitutions are bizarre and pre planned
-- Players are regressing

Im finding it hard to see any positive improvement in any area of Benitez' management.

Under Ancelotti we achieved 59pts which most people were disappointed with and expected an improvement this season. He also stated he would make us more attacking.

This season even the Benitez fans are claiming 45-50pts would be a successful season. Even Benitez himself is on record saying "8th is nothing" so thats clearly nonsense.

He'll need to massively improve the team over the next 27 games and so far theres no sign of any improvement in the play or the players.

Yeah becuase winning a trophy is a regular occurrence for Everton and something we should judge him on.
Much like @Chrismac wanted me to answer for your Spurs comparison, you are now wanting me to justify @Chrismac 's assertion that Pochettino's record should be judged on trophies. Spurs are hardly regular trophy winners either but Chrissy believed that was the justification for jibbing off Pochettino so I just wanted to make sure he was consistent in his judgements. But really, you'd have to ask C-Mac as it was his argument in the first place. You two have a lot in common, you really should get together for a beer and some Benitez shaped potato products.

Still think Benitez is doing ok. Like I did with Carlo, I will start judging managers when this hopeless group of players have been fired into the sun! They have been hiding behind managers for too long and they need to be brought to task by the fans, and less focus put on the manager for now.

…as I told you at the time, 20 points or below at Christmas leaves us vulnerable to relegation. The more we have above that benchmark the better. I think you dismissed it but it’s looking a more reasonable view now.

I don't think anyone really cares about your prediction tbh

We are all agreed that he was lying through his teeth about Allan having the flu yeah?

No way does the club put someone on the pitch with flu for 75 minutes. Ridiculous fib.
All? I disagree. And there is no way of knowing for sure unless you are a coach, a club doctor, Benitez or Allan. When it comes down to it, do I trust the manager who works at the club with the players or a random poster on the internet? Real tough choice here but I'll go with the manager. Hope that is ok with you.

The pressure should be on the players, why go after the manager again. The players are the ones who need to step up and give 110% every week.

….I think it’s lots to do with a few posters who put Benitez on a pedestal after every win, claiming him to be responsible for every bit of good news coming out of the club. As soon as things started to go wrong, that view was pounced on. The reality is, it was a very divisive appointment that many fans are uneasy about.

Regarding yesterday, I thought the team were set up fine and displayed a decent attitude throughout. Continuity was largely maintained through the substitutions and we were a bit unlucky having the penalty overturned. A little surprised Gordon played the full game given Benitez saying he couldn’t manage 90mins at this stage of his career.

I'm hoping keeping Gordon on was a snub to Iwobi

He faded badly in the last 20 mins IMO, I could see Benitez's point on this. Also surprised he stayed on

Yesterday subbing him would probably have made sense & I like the lad

So what we are saying is that benitez played Allan, knowing he had flu, therefore putting at risk the rest of our squad which currently has the biggest injury crisis to ever be seen on the planet?

Not criticising before people jump on me. I thought we played allright yesterday and he had the players more motivated. I'm just clarifying what posters are saying.
