That in a nutshell is the absurd balancing act that we navigate. We're always a couple of games from a disaster, which we need to move away from if anyone is ever going to last a couple of seasons here to fix the foundations so we can actually build a house on top.
Very true. It’s a tough run of games coming up and the media will start cranking up the pressure if we don’t get results. Will the board have the backbone to keep Benitez in post if we lose a few more on the spin? Who knows. It could get interesting in the coming weeks. But, pick up a point against city and a win against Brentford and all the pressure probably evaporates.

Mindblowing how some cant understand that.
I don't buy this easy / difficult game business. Generally all teams in the PL need to perform at or close to their best in every game to get a result. Drop a little and you lose, and that includes the top teams, given the league is so competitive. See it all the time, from all teams, where they pick up points you would never expect and lose points from what would be considered a 'banker'. Just play each game to best of ability and at the end of the season you arrive at the league position you merit.

So our next game is considered the same difficulty as the game after that in your eyes?

That is what I am saying...treat them the same. Crystal Palace beat City the other day 2-0. A quick look in google and as I understand it Palace were quoted at 18/1 to win at City but they did. Palace played Newcastle immediately prior to City and drew 1-1 at home. Now which game would Palace have expected to get a win?

There’ll always be anomalies but the table doesn’t lie, the teams we have on the horizon are better than the teams we’ve played so far and so we’re less likely to get points. Hopefully we can be the anomaly for once because if we only pick up the points I expect us to we’re going to be going into Christmas in a bad position.

I agree, it was an unlikely result and yes, anyone on any day can beat anyone else. But we know there are better teams than others and teams can have bad form. (And it can be statistically proven that there are better teams than other by looking at league tables. Which is why it's the same teams winning/getting into Europe the majority of the time).

But my question was, do you class Man City as the same difficulty as Brentford? Yes or no.

Possibly

OK, imagine a world in which we have got to the FA Cup semi final, the other teams in the draw are, City, Chelsea and Palace, any preference as to who you would like to be drawn against?
