I am genuinely really worried about the Derby

Those Kopite's are going to have a field day both on the pitch and in the stands, whilst we'll all have to sit there and take it

Actually feel kind of bad for Benitez because it's going to be beyond toxic in there

Didn't help himself when he came in, but still, he's dedicated himself to the task thus far

He's very thick skinned but the reaction in that Derby is going to put that to the test

I’d deffo phone in sick if I was him like.

Be arsed with that.

Yeah, like that'd be a new experience.

Why feel bad for him? Feel bad for the fans, sure, for the utter humiliation - but he’s the ultimate cynic - here for a pay day no more no less. Lining his pockets is all that matters to him at this stage of his life.

Because I find it impossible not to feel empathy in this situation

No Everton manager before or since is going to receive anything like he's going to get when they skelp us at Goodison

He's still a human being at the end of the day, and to be honest more of the blame is deserved for those that hired him than he himself. He's just a man doing a job at this stage. Basically getting thrown to the wolves as a human shield for Moshiri and Co

This is a needlessly antagonistic post

Why? It's completely true.

Dictionary definition of misplaced ire.

From the very start, there's been a notable section of support who have been desperate to jump on Benitez and were outright disappointed Everton were winning games early on. It's just a sad fact. I get it, I'm not foolish enough to have not expected it, but it's incredibly childish.

It's being done for a specific reason, i.e. to rile up those that don't like Benitez and leading to more extreme opinions on both sides getting thrown around

It's November now. We should be capable of having a reasoned discussion about the manager and the reason we don't is because of posts like that, which are mostly being done for dramatic effect in order to illicit a certain type of reaction

He could have rejected the offer

It isn't; it's in response to those already being irrational.

Did you see yesterday? It didn't need davek to post anything for them to be 'riled up' - it was a shocker on here. It was like Moshiri/Brands/the players didn't exist.
