He is doing good but Carlo did good at the start then he put the Icelandic slug back in the team because of injuries. Then we looked terrible. I hope to never see him in a Everton shirt again. Benitez not having him to select and him slowing down all are counter attacks could be a blessing in disguise an also adding a fast direct winger is working a treat. Long may it continue we all just want to see Everton win football matches. So let’s all get behind. The team and Benitez. I was a big fan of Carlo but he and his son obviously wasn’t doing what was required in training because the players this season look fitter than they ever have and you have to credit Benitez for that.
I don't know about anyone else. But I feel like it's different that under Carlo

There seems to be a stronger desire and determination to be a team, something we have lacked for a long time..

Might just be some good result romance I'm feeling, but something feels better than before

Carlo was a lazy get, that's why we started well and finished 10th.

Benitez has less cash and will wring every last bit of sweat and toil out of this squad between now and May. That's the major difference.

He reminds me of Moyes in many ways. Sets up properly at the back , everyone knows their role , effort and workrate is through the roof.
Excellent so far.
Exactly what we needed... get them fit, hungry, keep it simple and organised. The group of players have all shown something in the past, we just need someone to coach them rather than say ‘just play’ to bring the best out of them.

Great to see and hopefully we’ll keep it up

Careful there mate you'll be accused of being a hoofball merchant loving know nothing saying such things.

I concur sir. Totally different feel to the team. Benitez won't accept mediocrity, unfortunately he is having to get on with it in the form of Keane and Holgate atm, however the days of starting Gomes, Davies, Sigs in our midfield I think are long gone.

We look really fit and sharp, when could we last say that??? We look more like a good premiership team rather than a team pretending to be (one) and just fudging our wins/performances from one game to the next. I accept that it is early days, but as Zeitgeist says, it just feels right and better than before. Carlo was clearly not the right man from December onwards and I was never upset about his departure.
We need some quality and depth in the team though, the next few days will be very important, as will luck with injuries -something we have been without for sometime. Today's absences and bench were pathetic. Not the full quota of subs. 2 benched keepers. Delph again out. JPG again out. Mina again out. Godfrey, what is going on there?? Davies??? -On his way???

Hats off to Benitez and the boys -who could make it- tonight. I'm enjoying my last scotch before bed on ya!

Excellent start for our latest manager despite all the obvious misgivings over his appointment.Long may it continue.Lets not forget our friends from over the park sacked him.Im sure even after all this time and our present difficulties FFP etc,he would love to say FU to them by performing miracles with us.

Please, everybody, even those who hate the man, please watch him from the sidelines.
In one game, he works harder than any manager I’ve ever seen.
He’s more astute than previous managers and he’s a winner.
Give this fella a chance and he might just ?????????

People seem to think "hoofball" and "not tiki-taka" are the same thing. It's been exciting watching those forward passes into space

Good football is scoring more than the opposition. How that’s achieved is subjective and different people like different styles, try telling Atletico’s fans that their teams haven’t played ‘good’ football under Simeone. It’s the laziest thing in the world just to label everything other than passing it aimlessly round the back as hoofball or pragmatic. All I’m seeing so far under Benitez is that we’re quite happy playing the ball on the deck when the opportunities are there but we’ll also use crosses and longer balls if it’s not.
