Except when the performances of the senior player have been so dreadful. It's an absolutely appalling message to any young player at the club if Rondon is given the start on Sunday. You either pick a side on merit or you pick on reputation and past performance.

And in both cases Rondon comes out second best against Simms

They have to prove it in training and if they aint doing it they dont get selected.

No other club fanbase cries about selecting fringe youth players as much as we do its embarassing.

Gordon is an attacking wide player who is yet to score (or even assist iirc) yet he is raved about like he's Sterling because his name isn't Iwobi.

Dobbin and Simms should be out on loan learning their trade and developing like every other club does with their better academy players yet we demand them playing even if they are nowhere near ready for the PL.

Other than creating earth tremors around the area of FF, what`s Rondonut doing in training ?

Yeah obviously overall he has done a good job and winning the FA cup was absolutely huge (for me anyway). During his tenure though we've had really long spells of playing dross football and poor results, this current spell being the longest. And their might be a fair few people saying 'well its only Leicester so what do you expect' but everything we've achieved over the last decade has happened because the owners dared to dream.

I'd be quite happy to see somebody else take over now and give the players a new voice to listen to. Things have definitely gone stale

If Rondon is crap and gets dogs abuse he can take it - he's a grown bloke who's experienced and been through that.

If Dobbin is absolutely crap and part of a team that gets roundly boo'ed off the pitch even if the boo's aint aimed at him personally that shatters the young kids confidence.

Thats why these players go out on loan to lower level teams - to learn, develop you dont throw them into a CL final or into a struggling team desperate for points with an already riled up fanbase.

Can’t really argue with anything he says in the press conference tbh.

He knows what he’s doing, just let him get on with the job. Docuoure and Gray potentially close to fitness is a massive boost as well. If we could have those two and Richarlison lining up for the derby I’d feel a bit more confident.

This kids just come back from a bad injury and was playing in League One last season.

Im not saying Toshun or Rondon are the answer but again some fans are crying over very limited options available to the manager.

Its not like Utd fans moaning that Rashford and Sancho should be selected over Greenwood and Martial is it...

It's not like Rafael has said the guy is rubbish and will never play. He's simply said this game calls for more experience and Simms has just come back from injury and is only playing 45 mins in the U23.

If he was chatting a load of nonsense about how we are in a phenomenal moment, or how Cleverley was the greatest English transfer of all time then I’d be worried we had a delusional idiot at the helm. Instead he’s realistic on where some players are at, realistic on where the problems are, realistic on what we need to improve on. Of course the proof is in what is on the pitch, but I’ll take realism over the complete denial we’ve had from previous managers that there’s even anything wrong.
