The clue is in his demeanor - Martinez/Koeman/Silva all looked like blokes on death row before they were given the bullet - grey/bald with stress, unshaven, suitcases under their eyes never mind bags.

He's going nowhere anytime soon.
Yeah , he's so bland he made Carlo's Covid pressers sound like Murray Walker at Mardi gras .watched the presser... It looks like he will start with Rondon with Tosun getting some minutes later on. If Doucoure is fit he might start, if not Gbamin. No places for Simms or Onyango other then maybe the bench.
He was backtracking on his comments after the Citeh game about playing differently against Brentford, highlighting the only difference to be better at the counter than we were last week.
DISSAPOINTING....
I dont accept your stats on Brentford. 3 of the 'half a team out' you mention are in contention to play. They also have home advantage.Brentford could have half of their team out on Sunday and are on a five-match winless run in the league, having lost four in a row before the Newcastle game the other day.
Everton could have half of the first team out too, and are on a 6-match winless run in the league, with 4 defeats and 2 draws.
So, it's going to come down to which manager can outthink the other with limited resources, isn't it? Because David, as bad as our squad is with the current injuries, it should not be losing to Brentford with their current list of injuries.
It's a real balancing trick they have on their hands. Its funny because most of our fans dont rate most of our players but when we lose its only the managers fault in the eyes of mostly the same people

There's literally nothing some of you wont say to make light of the catastrophic crisis of injuries Everton are experiencing right now.
I'm not making excuses, I'm saying it up front: we'll be beaten.Making excuses for an expected loss to Brentford of all teams, Jesus wept.
And who’s fault will it be if we do get beat?I'm not making excuses, I'm saying it up front: we'll be beaten.
The lack of quality of the playing staff put in place by Brands and Koeman and Silva and Ancelotti .And who’s fault will it be if we do get beat?
If he was chatting a load of nonsense about how we are in a phenomenal moment, or how Cleverley was the greatest English transfer of all time then I’d be worried we had a delusional idiot at the helm. Instead he’s realistic on where some players are at, realistic on where the problems are, realistic on what we need to improve on. Of course the proof is in what is on the pitch, but I’ll take realism over the complete denial we’ve had from previous managers that there’s even anything wrong.
This post has absolutely decimated the injuries excuse for the upcoming derby.Last year when we won the derby, Dom wasn't fully fit and was on the bench, Allan was only fit enough for the bench after nearly 3 months out. We played Godfrey as like a weird left-back/centre-back and same with Holgate on the other side. We had James up front with Richarlison, and we had Doucoure and Davies in midfield. Our wingers were Coleman and Gomes with Digne kind of as a full-back.
We had no Mina.
For the derby we could have back Dom (on the bench possibly, so same as February) and Doucoure. Let's say the Allan rumours aren't true, for now, and we'd have Richarlison back from suspension and Mina likely back too.
What are these 8/9 injuries anyway?
Davies, Gomes, Gray, Doucoure, DCL, Mina?
That's six. Richarlison is suspended.
And who’s fault will it be if we do get beat?
This is such a ridiculous statement.Until we get DCL and Doucoure back in particular people can forget expecting results - its more hopeful and it would be the same under most managers.
People say "worra bout Carlo" but Ancelotti whilst I wasn't impressed with him is still a top quality manager - a top quality manager we can no longer attract as it stands with our FFP situation.
Sit back, relax and try not let Everton ruin your weekends is my advice.
This is such a ridiculous statement.
2 players out injured and we can't expect Rafael Benitez, our 8 million quid manager, to get a result with the other players available.
The work you are putting into lowering expectations is a joke.
