It was nice of him to foresee the need for funds for his pay off and secure them by ridding of us of our most creative player.

Out of all the options we have currently fit in the central striking department I’d probably rather start Rondon than Tosun Simms or Dobbin. Tosun and Simms are just back from injury, Dobbin has also been injured recently. Simms is a complete unknown quantity in the premier league, no one knows what sort of quality he’s showing in training. Benitez even said it himself, Gordon is physically and mentally ready to play (and even he’s been massacred on here at times).

Rondon’s poor form has been massively over exaggerated and used as a lightning rod to beat Benitez with. He wouldn’t even be playing if DCL or Richarlison were available and yet people are treating his selection like he’s Benitez’s son or something.

Rondons poor form hasn`t been massively over exaggerated, as he`s not shown any kind of form at all, he`s shown nothing of anything at all, as the stats prove.

The fact that he`s still grossly unfit, despite the fact that he`s allegedly been trying to get fit since he got here, tells you all you need to know about the Pilsbury Dough Man.

Michael Keane would offer more of a threat, at least he can head a ball.

Anything, even an unproven youngster and a youngster coming back from injury would be better than that waste of skin.

Moving on James is the one thing I agree with Benitez. The player wasn't committed and is never fit. Dunno why people still bring him up. We need to move on all our players who are never fit.

My take - Benitez is the night watchman, he has been brought in to keep us up for the next two seasons whilst the club deals with FFP. Avoiding relegation is the only objective, and as a businessman man, that’s all moshri needs right now. Once FFP is done and we can spend, he gets the boot and we bring in THE man. So unless we really are going down, he is staying put, but he will be sacked if relegation looms.

The squad is way worse than last year, anyone saying James was garbage need to have a word with themselves, he was absolute class, shame it didn’t work out. We also miss the unnamed one (I mean, we really are cursed with how that has gone), he at least had some technique and could slot, he scored a fair few last season. You also can’t ignore the injuries, so I agree on that point, but if relegation looms moshri will act.

I don’t like him but it is what it is, everton are bigger than one manager. Just hope he has it in him to get something to work, because form is worrying. Got to get a few results before jan, Brentford is critical. I would like to see the kids get some time, at least that would be a positive but maybe they are just rubbish. It’s grim, I feel everybody’s pain, but we are all in this together.

1 win in 8 with the luxury of having had both DCL and Richarlison fit for most if not all of those games iirc - Benitez has 1 win in 9 with DCL, Mina and also having had Richy out for a number of them and people want him tarred and feathered.

He's missed 4 games for Benitez and we have already lost 3 which is as many as Ancelotti lost in 8 games without Doucoure.

The lack of quality of the playing staff put in place by Brands and Koeman and Silva and Ancelotti .

There's literally nothing Benitez can do with the players he has at his disposal.

To challenge that claim you'd have to tell me that the players we have available ARE capable of competing. Well.....?

These players are the same players Ancelotti had and more, he chose not to give any chance to James. These players are gutless at times we know but they’re also still capable of decent performances. If Benitez is as savvy as his backers make him out to be then he will find a formula to get a tune out of what’s available. I mean that’s his job right?

We all know Ancelotti is the better manager but thats not the point ultimately - the point is can we replace Benitez with anyone better?

Realistically the answer is no considering we are skint and its mid season when similiar level clubs to us like Villa and Newcastle are appointing duffers like Gerrard & Howe.
