Calling other fans snobs for wanting better than what we are getting. If I've taken that wrong then fair enough apologies but sounds like a criticism because we aren't happy with the crap we are being served up by this manager.

I think it was obvious what was going to happen, and he was always the wrong appointment. He is proving that and he looks devoid of ideas. I'm sorry, but at 3:1 down to bring onna defensive midfielder is just ludicrous.
I was putting myself in there as always using "we" as I have certainly been guilty of it as well.

It's about a new manager coming in and carrying out a long term rebuild. We've been waiting years for this and no one has done it and Benitez has never shown any ability to build a squad. He added old players to the squad this summer when we were crying out for young hungry options.

No one says it's not the players. But we need someone young and ambitious to take on a long term rebuild.

The clubs too messed up for that appointment - imagine a young manager Dealing with that atmosphere at full time Wednesday they would crumble.

A young manager simply couldn't handle the stress of this job with the current chairman/DOF/gutless squad and angry fanbase.

We tried Silva, and a spell at the end of a season aside, went exactly like you said.

Certainly not Potter anyway. Look how rattled he was with a few boos.

Let’s say we get a scenario where the outfield players actually stop making mistakes and we start going ahead in games, but then Pickford revisits his form from last season of dropping balls in his net again.

This is the problem with the players. Who amongst them can you actually bank on to not make crippling mistakes all the time?

Absolutely. They all have clangers in them.

The Villa and Watford games reconfirmed that they have "that" in them this season. Was prevalent under Carlo who, in interviews after some defeats, would be lost for words.

I expected a game or two that showed it to light under Rafael. But I don't think he knows how to prevent it... he'll just repeat and repeat

The atmosphere is toxic because the owner appointed Benitez and the results are the worst in 22 years! Very naive to think that reaction happens under a Lampard or Potter.

The idea someone like Lampard would be scared of the pressure is a ridiculous argument as well. He won everything and played under pressure every week in a team where losing wasn't allowed. He then managed the same club under Abramovich who has zero patience. Yet you think he'd bottle it at Goodison?

We need someone to have a direction, a means to get there and the support to do it. Not interference from people who specialise in different areas and use this club as an ago massage.
The next manager has to be allowed to do his job with DoF. The DoF liaises with the board to manage available finances.
But, we should have had Ten Hag in the summer, not el Gordo. I know it, Brands knows it, a lot of supporters and most of the club knows it, but not Moshiri, he put his foot down and threw a gauntlet down at the same time. This is the biggest problem now.

Happened to Silve. The Athletic said something along the lines that Brands really wanted to keep him even when all the players put him under the bus. But when he asked him if he wanted to stay on, he didn't really defend himself.

Based on Silva's history (12 months max at a club) it wasn't a surprise.

Only as bad as you calling Merson and Alex Ferguson addled alcoholics or whatever it was.
Your double standards actually have no boundaries do they?
What did I say? And is that true statement the same as declaring someone a dementia sufferer?

Clueless.

I'm still willing to give him time. We have to get out of the cycle of sacking managers every season, it's not becoming of our great club.

I'd be interested to see what happens in January. He's under the impression that investment is available.

….the problem is, he’s normally very wrong.

i actually wouldn’t be surprised if he’s encouraged to be controversial by the GOT powers that be to keep conversation lively. Nobody could be as wide of the mark as often as he is.

I dont like the 2 in midfield but Dunc, Ancelotti and now Benitez are all playing it which makes me think Brands has had a say on it as well as DOF.

Nothing changes until the squad is better ultimately - I dont care if we finish 8th, 10th, 14th, 17th doesn't matter to me you dont get a trophy or day out at wembley for it.

Until we are winning trophies or seriously competing for the top 4 im not bothered who's in the dugout as we're midtable plodding club these days.
The way things are going under the current incumbent, being a mid table plodding club may be a big improvement on where we are. 14th, level on points and goal difference with 15th and 16th and 5 points ahead of 18th, who have played 1 game fewer than us.

You’ve said some horrific things on this forum over the years Dave, don’t go playing the victim now.

Not going to get into a debate or argument with you about it, I’m sure somebody will vault you for a lot of the bile you have spouted.

Its easily done, you’ve just been shown up once in the last 24 hours.

Anyway, Benitez out to stay on topic.

We don’t sack managers every season.

Allardyce was the only one to get a season that I can recall.
