If we applied the furoré on here to any Everton manager objectively, we'd have sacked Ancelotti after 1 win in 7 from 17 October to 5 December 2020; a terrible performance where we nicked a win against Fulham. We didn't, because we all understood the squad was rubbish, we'd had a few injuries and bad luck, and we couldn't do better than Ancelotti.

Same situation here, albeit worse results, but with many more mitigating circumstances. The same leeway isn't given to Benitez that was given to Ancelotti, and we all know why. Yes, Benitez doesn't deserve the same leeway as Ancelotti as he's a 'lesser' manager overall, but it's a fact people were at his neck before a ball was kicked.
I’ve told you like other managers Ancelotti built up some credit with his first season.

The waiter comes in with nothing in the bank. Zero.

But if Potter is the **best** of a realistic bunch what hope do we have?

If Benitez went tomorrow out of all the realistic managers available I would be after Dyche or Biesla.

Nuno/Potter/Lampard/Alladyce/Periera/Fonesca/Hughes/Dunc/Pulis no way man.
Of course you want Dyche. Lower in the table. Worse recent form. You won't be happy until you see us in League 1, will you?
