Dont fans think a manager should be given a minimum of three transfer windows and some proper funds before judging him, Koeman and Silva were both given time and funds before being shown the door. How can any manager be seriously judged before he has had a chance to bring in his own players and get the team playing his way.. at the moment Benitez has had no proper money, injuries to the only decent players in the squad and is being judged on players not good enough to carry out his tactics he wants to employ... don’t forget you can’t polish a turd as regards some of these players..
Koeman and Silva bought themselves time with decent first seasons.

Had they gone on runs similar to this current disaster in their first season they would have been shown the door .

I was personally of the opinion pre-derby that if the game was a hammering and total embarrassment, Moshiri would give Rafael 1 more game before axeing him, just so the media / narrative / history books don't forever say "liverpool got everton manager LFC-legend Rafael sacked". The 'buffer' of 1 more game just being enough to spare the club that extra grounds of mocking. Then he text Jim White. Now it wouldn't surprise me if Rafael is here on Boxing Day without a single point between now and then.

A large reason we are in the mess we are is because they gave Koeman proper funds before judging him; quite a lot of people on here judged him as not being good enough prior to his appointment and yet they allowed him to reform the club into a huge mess.

As for Silva, personally I thought the improvement he showed towards the end of his first season justified him getting that chance in the close season that followed and the first bit of the next season - but sadly he went so badly wrong he had to be fired before he got to the next window. The way this season has started under Benitez is very reminiscent of that season, the continual decline and the failure of the manager to do anything positive about it. At least Marco though had the good sense to look clueless; Benitez looks like he doesnt think anything is wrong.

Any decent manager would realise that your players’ ability dictates the system rather than try to force a system that they cannot play.

Educate me. What system is the FSW going to grace us with?

I'm not stating it as a prophecy, it's just what I could see in my mind's eye. Lose a must-win against Brentford, battered by the RS - Moshiri knows his experiement has failed so it's either (a) sack him on the spot and let the RS have something else over us not to mention the media frenzy by "journalists" desperate for clicks, or (b) wait a game -2 at most- and don't allow the "LFC sacks Rafael" narrative to add to what is already a firestorm around the board. But then he texts Jim White, so all bets are off for me. Moshiri might be praying we get to Burnely and Newcastle and take 6 points before the end of the year and that gives him £8m man some breathing space.

Should've been gone after Brentford. Every day he remains, more damage is being done.

Shambles of a club

100% - getting battered is understandable, the players not turning up is understandable, hell the injury list is understandable but for most of that second half they were well in that game and yet he refused to do anything. It could well have been (certainly it looked like) him making a point about not having resources, and the board should have reacted by sacking him for doing it.

No one said he had a full squad for the season, just saying he had many more players available on a regular basis and his results after Christmas were shocking
Lol
We started last season very well)no injuries) then plummeted, won three of the last thirteen including 5-0 to city as well as a season if home losses to Fulham, shef weds, Burnley and Newcastle, all of whom were basically bottom or close to

Carlo had a full squad ffs
Well ^^^^

The Kenwright board meeting is an intriguing one

Am I right in thinking that the Silva sacking was something pressed on Moshiri by the board rather than one he entered into willingly?

If so it could be Kenwright that pulls the trigger, assuming it isn’t Brands that’s sacked first. Rendering the text message exchange moot.

My doubts about sacking Brands now stem from the fact that it wouldn’t automatically mean that results would pick up and they’d still then be likely forced into another firing a week or 2 later?
